    Fenway HoJo's Redevelopment | 1271 Boylston Street | Fenway

Justin, I'm with you, I like it too. Samuels is smart to tie this in with music instead of baseball. I can see it becoming the place acts playing Lansdowne stay at, and becoming one of those retro hip places that is way to cool for me. I imagine the plan is to make this last about as long as a...

    Fenway HoJo's Redevelopment | 1271 Boylston Street | Fenway

I call this land banking done right. There's clearly something to Samuel's ability to get stuff done, and keep the neighbors on board. I think this reflects that.

    Goodwin Procter HQ @ Fan Pier | 90 - 110 Northern Ave - Parcel I | Seaport

Re: Goodwin Procter HQ (Parcel I) @ Fan Pier | 90 - 110 Northern Ave | Seaport New design looks like a server with one open port remaining. It would have been cooler if they'd aped the design of the new Mac Pro instead.

    Goodwin Procter HQ @ Fan Pier | 90 - 110 Northern Ave - Parcel I | Seaport

Re: Goodwin Procter HQ (Parcel I) @ Fan Pier | 90 - 110 Northern Ave | Seaport That park shoehorned in next to the building will be fantastic! On the Summer equinox. From 11:48 to 12:12.

Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Van Ness) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway

Re: Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Goodyear Tire) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway Has anyone plotted out all of Samuel's holdings in the Fenway area? Combining the projects that they've built, plus announced planned projects, plus the leasing info on their website, it looks like they own most...

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

That first picture looks very promising. Buildings taller than street width? Check. What appears to be ground level street interaction that is differentiated from the buildings above? Check. A good mix of facade materials? Check. This could turn out very nicely.

Charlesview Redevelopment | Western Ave | Allston

What a difference it makes to have underground utilities. I was trying to figure out what was missing from these shots, and then I realized--the tangle of wires!

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Re: Green Line to Medford to start in 2011 This discussion of Union Square housing stock brings me back. In about 2001 I was shopping for my first place. I ended up buying a modest, 1400 sf condo in Davis, but I almost talked my wife into to buying a ridiculously huge Victorian on the side of...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower The waterfall looks like a sweater Bill Cosby would have worn on the Cosby Show.

Twenty Two Liberty @ Fan Pier | 22 Liberty Drive - Parcel C | Seaport

Re: Twenty Two Liberty @ Fan Pier | 22 Liberty Drive | Seaport Favorite part of the render linked above is that the new building blocks the view of the mechanicals on top of the ICA. I jest. That looks like it will be quite the address.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Re: Green Line to Medford to start in 2011 If they complete the path to Northpoint, and have a bridge connection to the Greenway, this will be the tipping point in bicycle transportation for the Boston area. It will put downtown Boston within a 10 mile commute (which I think is the reasonable...

Millennium (Hayward) Place | 580 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place I love this building. It's amazing how much it transforms the street compared to the gawd-awful parking lot and urine-drenched headhouse that was there before. I think this building along with the Filene's tower have the potential to finally, for reals...

    315 on A | 315 A Street | Fort Point

Re: 319 A Street Rear This building looks like it was built to last. I'd say it's neck and neck between this building and MP III for most handsome building of 2013.

^Makes the jail look like a waterfront palace. Someone should flip it into condos.

    315 on A | 315 A Street | Fort Point

Re: 319 A Street Rear Good point about imposing cookware requirements on rentors ... but they seem to be pushing the "green" aspects of this building, and induction is generally very efficient. I had a bunch of All-Clad stainless pots that don't work on my stove--not ferrous enough, I guess...

    315 on A | 315 A Street | Fort Point

Re: 319 A Street Rear Could be electric induction cooktops. I've got one and I'd say cooking is equal to gas, but with very little waste heat going into the room. Plus, the best cookware for it in my experience is cast iron--requirement for induction is that the cookware be magnetic. The more...

    Longfellow Bridge update

For those interested in watching the Longfellow construction unfold step by step, here's a link to a collection of daily time lapse videos. Not sure how long this will be up, but it's worth checking out just for the skyline views: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDilLu_qCt0Dz4o6bxMo8cQ

    Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

Free trolly, next to James Hook Lobster, crossing the Northern Ave Bridge, continuing on Northern Ave and then cutting over to the convention center on E Service Road. Or maybe just go straight all the way to the cruise line terminal. Not intended to compete with the Silver Line--make it a free...

    Harvard - Allston Campus

I've always wondered about Harvard buying the CSX parcel. I can't imagine them developing it with the Pike in its current alignment. Now, seeing all that open land, I propose the following crazy idea. Build a tunnel for the Pike, more or less from where it goes under Cambridge Street...

    The Best of Boston 2000-2009
