That's because we're a city of stubby, boxy, mid-rises. If we actually had a 1000-footer (gasp!) with some bold design, then people would be much more interested.

Just curious - looking at those latest photos, would you say they're at about 50% of height? Maybe a little less?

I guess a slight yawn, but overall, it's an improvement. Especially the nighttime crown illumination of which Boston desperately needs more of.

I know the previous thread was locked, but I'm curious if anyone knows more about this? I work nearby and it's clear they're starting demolition. There's an article today on the BBJ about it too. Is this a good sign for the tower, or was the city tearing down the garage regardless?

At 796' the BCBS tower is the 14th tallest in Chicago. Sadly, if built here, it would be the tallest.

A few more floors would be great. And in the redesign, do I see some type of potentially illuminated crown? Or illuminated spires a la the new State Street tower?

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District Most of us understand what he means. I agree with you, DZH. It's sad that cities like Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, and Charlotte have taller buildings than anything in Boston.
