    New infrastructure bill

It's not even the volume of traffic that's the issue. In fact, we should probably avoid inducing new demand. It's the safety that's absolutely horrific. Nowhere else is traffic so slow yet so white-knuckled. Way too much weaving is required on such a short stretch of road.

If you read three paragraphs into the article, you''ll see this: This isn't "a place for the rich to live". It's a fancy storage unit complex.

West Cambridge / Alewife Area Infill & Small Developments

This area desperately needs some bars or entertainment of some sort. Hell -- even a restaurant open after 3PM would be a start. Nobody willingly lingers around here.

Skanska Office Tower | 380 Stuart Street | Back Bay

I don't hate the stacked staggered floors thing, but I am starting to get tired of seeing it. The ground floor is vastly improved though! Get it done!

I agree that it would be nice for an area this close to downtown to be less car-choked, but the only way to make that happen is to get Route 1 thru-traffic to go somewhere else. I can think of a few crazy pitches, but I'm doubtful that the political will exists for any of them: Add a congestion...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I wouldn't count on a high temperature by the time that the fluid makes its way over to any of the detectors, which I assume would be distributed along the edges of the cars. ...I am a bit sad to be putting this much thought into public urination.

    Brunswick Development

I came across some early concepts for changes to the Route 1 corridor in Brunswick, which include: Adding a circular roundabout to the Route 95 exit, with hopes to slow down speed at conflict points. Adding a second right turn lane going from Mill Street southbound to Pleasant Street westbound...

I am not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but this project looks like a better version of this residential(?) building in San Diego:

Glad we could settle this topic derailment. We're all glad to know that things you like are markets, and things you don't like aren't markets.

    Parcel 25 | Kneeland St | Chinatown

Is this supposed to relate to anything I said? I have no idea why you quoted me. I never said anything about the world being optimal. Are you just dogmatically decrying everything you don't like as not a "market outcome"?

    Parcel 25 | Kneeland St | Chinatown

What? You're literally reducing the supply of eligible contractors. How can that possibly not increase costs?

    Parcel 25 | Kneeland St | Chinatown

And adding extra requirements to the contract that are immaterial to the work being done will surely reduce costs!
