The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Absolutely - we just did a backyard landscaping and got some of the reconditioned bricks (from a Maine factory being taken apart) which according to the wife looks 10x better than the new bricks (they better as they are 3x more expensive). There's a huge market for them in the new build housing...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Interesting - what is the difference between the total passenger statistics that are self reported by the airport authorities (massport link two posts above" and the "enplanements" statistic that is quoted on the link above?

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

At this rate, Logan will likely pass Detroit this year and possibly Minneapolis in passenger traffic rankings. Another few years like this and they'll have to think about more substantial expansion plans than what's on the table.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower I wonder if the general trend for larger more open work spaces that promote interaction is the driving force of the change...it looks like the office floor plans are substantially larger. I'm sure this is tenant driven but this trend for more productive work spaces come...

Re: South Station Tower I don't love the new design as much...I feel like they took the old one and fed it a bunch of junk food and it grew love handles...

    Boston Redevelopment Authority

This is pretty silly - $670k for a brand study for a regulatory body in a city government...such a wasteful CYA move to implement totally obvious changes I feel like I could save them a lot of money...here it goes 1.) Define what your goals are for development in a clear and straight forward...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower I am more optimistic here, I think Hines is sitting on a gold mine but they haven't locked down a large anchor tenant and so the advance rate of any construction loan would be quite low. It's just to much equity risk for Hines to do on a spec basis. They are running...

Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

I think the stark contrasts could potentially make this the gem of the area...We will see how the execution goes but its related so it will be a "premium" product. I have high hopes...what I do love is that there are only a handful of cities in the US where this type of development is even...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Interesting stuff...thanks for this. Seems like they have been updating and managing the growth quite well given the constrained space. Speaking of terminal E, is this the one that Modern kept screwing up during construction until it went under? Also, any annecdotal stories on wait times for...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

just looked at quarterly statistics and Logan is up more than 11% in Q1. I couldn't find a faster growing airport in North America...11% is right up there when compared to some of the larger EM's out there...pretty impressive stuff for an airport that hasn't added a new runway or material new...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

It's funny in Philly but there's a bit of sports lore attached to the height of buildings From Comcast below: By J T. Ramsay, Chief Blogger, Comcast Corporation in Corporate News The Curse of William Penn may not be the most famous curse in sports history, but between 1987 and 2008 it...

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | Necco St.| Fort Point They could also use the old GE logo on 30 Rock before Kabletown took it over...I wouldn't be surprised if they update the meatball logo and go with something more fresh and modern as part of a larger branding shift...I mean they sell hot sauce now.

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | Necco St.| Fort Point Absolutely whighlander. I was just saying they probably didn't put the exact site because they wouldn't have really thought it was available to them to offer. Also, they were competing and didn't really know what GE was looking for anyway so...

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | Necco St.| Fort Point It was private property that was not for sale so it would have been tough to offer a site as potential that you didn't really have any influence or sway over...A.G. Lafley was on GE Board of Directors for a long time before stepping down a few...

    11-21 Bromfield Street | DTX | Downtown

the jury is still out for me...a lot I like, some I'm not so sure of yet. I'd love to see the cantilevers shaved down a bit and maybe pick up the lost sf by going a few floors higher. This doesn't look like a cheap design though - from a complexity and cost standpoint how does something like...
