    MA Casino Developments

So true. When I lived in Northwest Ohio I would occasionally go to Windsor with a friend who liked to gamble. I was surprised at how little activity there was on the street. I went there hoping to have an urban experience but the place was like a ghost town outside of the casino.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

^ Yes, the political BS inserted into these threads sucks the life out of this forum. It would be nice if there was some discussion about design, planning, etc. I should just go read the Herald's forum.

691 Mass Ave | South End

Re: 691 Mass Ave I would not want to live in one of the first floor units of this building. This photo makes it feel like you're right on the street. I'm sure the reason for having the first floor at this level has everything to do with accessibility. I'd rather live in one of the neighboring...

691 Mass Ave | South End

Re: 691 Mass Ave ^ So what IS a good example of a modern building that fits into a context like this? I think this building is okay, I would have preferred that the top not be the lighter gray. I am genuinely curious about what you think is successful.

    Dunkin Donut's - nimby's gone MAD

Im no fan of Dunkin Donuts, but the idea that there are too many restaurants in the area is ridiculous. I live off of Tremont and walk past this building two or three times a day. At night the section of Tremont where this building is located, between West Brookline and Mass Ave, feels like a...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower If I could copy and paste the whole article, I would. The zoning commission did designate a larger area for the PDA, not this specific development. The PDA includes the Copley Place tower site and, or to, the Christian Science Center property. Maybe...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower There's an update on this project in the Aug 12 issue of the Boston Courant. The article says The Boston Zoning Commission has made the development into a PDA, which "suspends the developer from existing height and square footage restrictions". I'm...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower I'm excited about this. It looks like the city is going to remove that wide turn onto Dartmouth from Huntington. I think this will possibly calm the traffic at that intersection (a little) and make it more pedestrian friendly.

I had the same thought when I clicked through to the survery page. This is a serious matter and the language used discredits the signers.

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: YMCA/ Northeastern Dorm (formerly GrandMarc at St. Botolph) The original comment that started this discussion was a response to mine saying that I preferred the taller building. I don't see the problem with a "megadorm" either. How do universities in NYC handle their dorms? I'm assuming...

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: YMCA/ Northeastern Dorm (formerly GrandMarc at St. Botolph) I prefer the taller tower. The recent proposal looks awkward proportionally or from a scale standpoint.
