Try again. State held a meeting with the community in the winter and then again last month and a blog post was put out 7 Days before the closure and message boards have been flashing the message for 2 weeks prior as well as a twitter post. That's not publicizing the project?

Or how about using that lane as a breakdown lane and eliminating the little emergency pull offs.

The new bridge will be on the existing foot print of the North Washington Street bridge. I am not concerned they got a great architect who will design a signature bridge (who knows he might design a newer truss bridge). I seriously dought any widening at all. Dowtown Streetscape Update: Crews have now excavated the sidewalk on Moody Street from Newton Line to Crescent/Derby Street.

Right now it is not great access but the master plan is to build another 1 Million Square Feet in the next few years and build a new road to connect Third Avenue to Main Street.
