    Silver Line to Chelsea

We were told there would be up to 8. No new buses were purchased and they would be sending a few off to Maine to be redone (which I was told those are back now). If you look at my video, you can see 2 Trolleybuses painted SL colors at Courthouse. Those will be used for the shuttle to SL Way...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Sat in traffic in the tunnel this morning, still made it to work on time. It added a few minutes but not much. Still the 111 gets stuck on the bridge so is it better? Prob not. I'd rather sit on an SL3.. at least its one seat ride. We will see what the evening commute brings.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Maybe, see below Well Yes, it is a federal rule so not much the city can do... HOWEVER, what's promising is the T (and probably to a lesser extent MassDOT) said in a public meeting at Chelsea City Hall about the SL that they were working with city, state, and federal leaders to see about...

Data, It's already happening. The City and State really want to push for all of this, especially the bridge.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Layovers are as follows for the SL3 Chelsea Station (yes, there's layover room), plus a busway exit into Market Basket's parking lot for buses to join or leave the route. Courthouse Station, this is the general Silver Line Layover facility where the T keeps a few buses. Silver Line Way -...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All- Well it's been quite the ride to say the least, but the Silver Line is now open. It opened this morning at @ 5:02am, and I was on the first ride and did a picture set, of course. As far as construction, there's really three key things left that were not done for opening day. 1. Ramp...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Actually a while back there was some plan for a bus route to do exactly that but it was a NEW route. The route number it used was 113. You know it would be SL branded bus If anything goes, a busway along the current rail to Broadway. Maybe a ramp up. or have it cut thru T property to...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I'm SO glad you asked... I am doing a presentation for something on the Silver Line and I include an old Urban Ring map: (see it larger) I'm sure if we were doing UR now, it would go to Sullivan and not Wellington. And I have to say, it was pretty hard finding this map, the website is long...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I hope that it's as they approach the intersection. The state seems to be wising up to signal prioritization and making sure it is done properly. Of course you do realize two of the stops (Chelsea and Bellingham) are at one of the intersection so they will be in a stopped position already)

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Yes they do for the most part. There is some small crafts that do use the bridge, but generally its the huge tankers and they need high tide and the full depth of the creek to get to the facility. This is why I tell everyone, watch the tides. If it's low tide or near low tide in the creek, its...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Hi Folks, So I went to a Silver Line Gateway informational meeting about service last night. Nothing too surprising but a few tidbits for this crowd. 1. I asked about re-directing buses to bypass Airport. I was told firmly "No" and the T has no plans on doing so. The buses will be re-routed...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

No, not always. Please read what each standard is from the link above. The SL3 meets Gold Standard BRT. And it is being built this way. I wont comment much further on this, except please read and compare and remove your personal opinions from it.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I agree. The lines have become blurred. It's this whole mode change along a line. It needs to be consistent or near 90 % of the entire line. Taking a bus that ran in its own lane for over a mile, then switch to mixed traffic is just.. dumb. This is why I only support a ROW solution for...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Can't or just difficult and $. Active Rail Line and the BRT line would need to cross over near the product mart at some point. Just a very hard and expensive construction method due to it being an active rail line (we've had discussions on here about this) The Everett Transit Plan also had the...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I asked a while back to the PM I have a contact with. That is what they said. There is a meeting on Thursday at Chelsea City Hall as an informational session. I will ask them because I'd like clarification also.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

The Chelsea Street bridge went up. The road configuration around Airport doesn't really allow for a detour I guess. The buses would either: A) back track to the airport and use the airport exit to take 1A north or B) back track to the airport and use the airport exit to take 1A south to...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

It's because this is a two phase project. The Commuter Rail is coming in Phase II. Unfortunately it has no funding (which is why it hasn't started yet, when the SLG plans say it should be by now). Originally the stations were Eastern Ave, Box District, Chelsea Center, and Mystic Mall. Some...
