    Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All - It's time for another monthy installment of Silver Line Gateway photos! As far as the construction itself, it's all about little bits here and there (as you'll see below). There's just enough small changes and work areas to know that the project is just humming along. Today while I...

    Urban Ring

I'd love to comment about this plan but it's off topic :-) Yeah a small section is about Silver Line extension and Revere Beach Parkway, but mainly its off topic. Maybe someone should start a new thread? :-)

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Ugh... http://www.chelsearecord.com/2016/04/21/waiting-on-a-grantfundingverizon-strike-threatens-parts-of-silver-line-washington-avenue-bridge/ ugh well I hope they get funding. Bellingham Sq station is a crucial stop, along with moving the commuter rail station to a new station with high...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Correct. I've often wondered why, at least they didn't continue the community path to at least to Market Basket. So its within the project's scope. And provide some green space that lacks and desperately needs some. (it's barren, as you've seen in my photos) But the main focus of this project...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Yes but the cost is significantly lower than the GLX.. SLG is a cheap, easy-win project. But also consider that most of the SLG is at ground level, so no stairs or elevators will be needed or installed (except for a ramp connecting Bellingham Sq Station to Washington Ave)

    Silver Line to Chelsea

This is why I asked in what direction. Because at the southern end (Eastern Ave Station) the thought is that it would connect to the East Boston Greenway. Yeah behind Mystic Mall erm Chelsea Station, it's a crap shoot. But it could go the other way.

    In what direction?

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Yeah it's almost complete. Look in the set, I have more. Honestly I'm afraid to take pictures of that building because it's heavily guarded and security camera's everywhere. I don't need or want to be seen as a terrorist taking plotting pictures. (okay I'm weird but I try to stay under the...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All - So it's time for an update of the Silver Line Gateway project here in Chelsea. As I said in my last post, I would increase the frequency of picture sets since this year the majority of the work should be getting done. As far as the construction itself, it's all about little bits here...

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

I've posted this on twitter and FB and got a ton of replies. I thought you guys would like to see this also (and probably have comments for it too!) In case anyone didn't notice, there's little misting devices along the inbound Green Line Track near the end of the platform toward park street...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All - So it's time for an update of the Silver Line Gateway project here in Chelsea. Sorry for the delay, life happens, and with the cold weather and snow, I didn't anticipate much being done between the last set and now. And I was right, not much has been going on (see below). However I...

US Route 6 on Cape Cod

I think my main question was about the 13 mile section called Suicide Alley between Exit 9 in Dennis and the Orleans rotary, and not so much widening it from that point in at the Orleans rotary to meet up with the current divided highway beyond Truro toward PTown. (via Eastham, Wellfleet, &...

US Route 6 on Cape Cod

If you do find it let me know. yeah that's the confusing part.. it just seemed like they were planning to do so. Built some interchanges in some places. Made it 2-4 lanes in sections (i.e. PTown <--> Truro), and a few other highway-like features. But in others.. they have at-grade...

US Route 6 on Cape Cod

Okay.. I just got back from spending a quiet weekend on Provincetown on the cape. Since it's the off season and there's no ferry.. and I do not own a car, I rode the Plymouth and Brockton Bus all the way to PTown. This was my first *ever* ride on US Route 6 from the Sagamore to Ptown. Yes...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Not really. From the design meetings I went to.. the CR station will look like the BRT station with the concrete awnings. Even the early design docs (last two pics in my post above) are the same concrete ones used elsewhere along the BRT line.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Maybe. Much of it hinges on the CR station moving since Bellingham Square station cannot be built until that happens. They originally said late 2016.. so who knows it could open early.

Wow okay.. Thanks EGE for the update. I felt bad I didn't go out in Dec, but you filled in the gap! Thanks. But I'll still apologize for the delay. I was going to go out mid-December, however, I got sucked into a work thing, and then the holidays came and I just ran of out of time. But I am...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Well it's time for another update. I moved up taking pictures one up a few weeks because my weekends in November are rapidly filling up. So since Saturday was nice, I decided to take photos of the project. I am not sure if I will take a set close to mid-December or not. I can't imagine much...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

That's right, I am only sourcing MBTA ideal numbers. To me, everything else is up for debate. Sorry I try to only quote numbers from sources I reference when making points online. Anything else is hearsay. So yeah he could be right, but could be wrong too. It's all subjective to the rider.
