Thanks! I never would never expected such a long reply. But thanks F Line. Clear understand. Who knew there was that much geometrics to consider at that location!

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Yes That's my fear. Well it's long for one contiguous bus line. I did try to mitigate most of the traffic woes which would slow down the buses, but it would require alot of work and almost an entire bus way (segregated lane) the entire length (it could be done tho!) And yeah I didn't take in...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Route 16 BRT (Yellow Line) First off, I have to say this more of an 'off the cuff' crazy transit pitch idea, and a "let's sip some beer and play with scribblemaps on a Saturday night". I say this because I did much of this freehand, and designed this with the idea that everything would be 100%...

    Urban Ring

Even if the station was further back from the Mystic.. say behind the Everett Shops, and a pathway that leads from there to the casino. Is it still that much of a slope by that point? It's not THAT far away. Plus the stop could be used for those condos in the old Charleston Factory and for the...

A couple of things.. As I've said in another thread, to build out the busway to third/2nd/opposite end of MB as an exit isn't a stretch. There was a graphic about it in the SLG meeting: Just to the left the loop is 3rd street (or what's left of it). You could have the buses end there and use...

    Chelsea Infill and Small Developments

While I agree it needs help.. I don't necessarily agree with the 'nicer buildings' part. Chelsea has some beautiful untouched buildings along Broadway and in Bellingham Square. You just have to look past the grime, trash, and gawdy signs that many have. (I also think Bellingham Sq is a...

    Chelsea Infill and Small Developments

It's doing both. Regardless of what the neighborhood thinks, Chelsea does need more affordable housing for its residents. Sure we're getting nice complexes like One North, but those aren't that affordable. At least to the average Chelsea resident. And the city even recognizes it has an...

    The archBoston Meetup Thread

Unfortunately mid-july doesn't work for me so I'll have to skip this one. I'll be on cape cod that week :-/ I do like the location.. I think 'taking over' a bar is a better idea than trying to organize a place. Then we're not committed to bring the bar/restaurant owner business. We just show up...

I second that.. I am *always* going in that direction not the other. I swear I ride the 112 or 110/111 at least twice a week cuz I'm going to Wellington. I still support SLG anyways, but I hope ridership goes up so they will considering in the near future. But as several people on here have...

    Redesign Government Center

+1000000 LOL! Yes as a juror often at that courthouse for reasons unknown, I've often wondered why they took a grand courthouse like that and built gawd-awful center plaza there. You'd think they would want to showcase it like the statehouse is. On a different note, Metro CU moved out and now...

    NYC Transit

I agree. Its one of the few things I give the T props for. They really do tackle graffiti and keep the stations fairly clean. I even rode on a freshly cleaned bus this morning. I can't say that much for NYT.. the few times I've rode the subway in NYC I didn't want to touch anything.

I still carry around a system map of the T. It's amazing how useful it has come.. mostly showing tourists where to go (and I often give away my map)

I'll even second you F-Line and state that at ALL the SLG meetings, it was positioned as totally separate project from the UR. They did on a number of occasions explain where the idea for the SLG came from, and yes it's apart of the old UR project, but not being built as one. But is UR alive...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Well time for an update... Construction is moving along on the new busway and the new Washington Ave bridge. I went out today (6/20/15) to take some more photos of the construction since I know there's been some progress since last time (4/25/15). (I check weekly) Far more brush has been...

Cape Cod Rail, Bridges and Highways

Re: Boston to Cape rail Excellent post.. so much to touch on and I 100% agree with your post. I agree that many routes down in that part of that state (as with many in our state) should be fixed and converted to Interstates. However.. You say: I actually mentioned this on Uhub a while back...
