Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

A few of your points are debatable, but this one’s just wrong. As someone who grew up in the city of Boston, I can attest that city residents go to sports games at a similar frequency compared to people in the suburbs.

Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

Frustrating that the article doesn’t have statements from anyone in the House who worked to remove the wording. Who would do that, what’s the benefit, and how do they think the land will eventually be used? Very confusing motivations. Besides the need for traffic improvements on the Boston...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

That garage on the left really needs to be [best case] redeveloped or [bare minimum] covered with some screens or public art or something.

    Whats left to build on?

The windows are all boarded up, and the plywood doesn’t exactly look new. If there are people living/working in there, I’d be shocked.

    Whats left to build on?

Anyone know or want to speculate on what the future holds for this taller, dilapidated building in Allston?

    11-21 Bromfield Street | DTX | Downtown

But it’s only bad because the owner has intentionally let it rot / sit abandoned to pressure the city into whatever redevelopment, no? Am I being a conspiracy theorist right now?

Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

Why would this development impact Lamartine, which is on the opposite side of Centre from Mildred Hailey?

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

If we’re judging by total wealth, then Boston has more than Nantucket or Manchester-by-the-sea. Clearly that doesn’t reflect the actual situation in most of the city. The point is that there’s more poverty in Boston than in Everett, both by percentage and by raw number if we really want to go...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

I thought we’ve established at this point that the street address of the new stadium will be a Boston address, not an Everett one. And Boston has a higher poverty rate than Everett. I agree that a city is being pushed around by a wealthier neighbor, but I think you have the roles reversed.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

I mean, compare it against pay-to-play entertainment in the area like Kings Bowling or Puttshack mini golf. There, you’re guaranteed to pay at least $20-$30 on top of your food/drink orders. I was at Encore this past Friday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I took out $200 at the start and...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

I think the comparison’s been made in this thread before, but the aesthetic isn’t too far from London’s Battersea Power Station which was recently redeveloped. Maybe we’re moving into a “post-industrial chic” era. Could be a big deal for the brand of places like Lowell, Worcester, etc.

Green Line extension Newton to Needham

If only we could have rails AND trails. I don’t mean right up against each other. I mean creating new ROWs for one or the other so both can exist independently. The two things shouldn’t be competing or at odds with each other.

Shattuck Hospital Relocation and Redevelopment | Jamaica Plain

Franklin Park should be the city’s flagship park with tourists from all over the world flocking to see it. I don’t believe the proposed development gets us closer to that goal.

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

You'd have to have stairs, an elevator, and or a series of ramps to go from the roads to the park, which would indeed probably need to be raised to fit over the highway.

While I agree with this, does the state even have the power to directly alter individual town and city zoning laws?

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

You’re very very optimistic about the MBTA, its capability, its priorities, and its ability to react to increased demand in a meaningful way. There’s no way the current Authority would react this way to a new soccer stadium being built in Everett. It can’t even keep up with construction...
