Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part XIX (2025)

The third photo brings back memories of being a 9 year old and trying to walk the perimeter of the fort on the base stones. Thanks.

You can see the nearly exact same time rear view of the Intercontinental in The Departed.

Report: Celtics to look into building new arena

I have been saying for decades that the T should sell the Air Rights over the tracks west of Dot Ave, north of the Broadway Bridge for a waterfrontish arena for the Celtics. It has nearly as big a footprint as the Garden and the abutting retail / towers.

Evolution of the Prudential Center: 1954-1989

My favorite thing in the old Pru was Bank of New England in their branch had a very big original Salvador Dali painting. It was gone soon after the FDIC got the keys to the bank circa 1991.

Evolution of the Prudential Center: 1954-1989

If anyone can pull up the original Thomas Crowne Affair, there are shots of the then two year old steps between the mall and an outdoor mezzanine l Huge steps. If you watch the first Thomas Crown Affair, there are shots from the mall level up to this outdoor second level roughly where the...

    Tobin Bridge Relocation/Replacement

I'd much rather see an Orange line subway branch from just before Community College with a stop along Chelesa Street (Now arriving at Navy Yard!) with the current traffic underwater coupled with a subway doing cut and cover all the way to Route 60, then above ground parallel with Route 107 to...

    Mattapan Infill and Small Developments

Former Dorchester Resident Here - This is the heart of Dorchester Lower Mills. To me Mattapan doesn't start until the old Chronic Hospital on River Street. My Mom's phone exchange number (287) is a Mattapan number though and that came off of Temple Street 5 blocks west of here in the 70's

    Boston Easter Eggs

Lincoln Wharf was converted circa 1987 to a mixed income ownership property. It was sponsored by the San Marco Housing Corp., a non-profit in the North End. Roughly 30% of the units were market units, the rest sold at a discount providing that they not be resold at market rates. Things did...

They are half assing this job. Sidewalk is nearly blocked with the part available with broken paving. Non-Union job so this is par for the course.

    Dorchester Infill and Small Developments

So we assume that the deed restriction on the parking lot is gone? There was a Methodist or Baptist church on the parcel on the left which was very nice small church that was torn down in the 1940's or so. The Archdiocese of Boston was looking to place a church in Uphams Corner but was stymied...

Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

Actually, I think the stadium capacity is too small. Boston will pull 30k a game if the product is good. I'm old. I've been to Foxboro with 16k fans for Patriots games. Things change, the Revs will pull in a lot in Everett if they play well although I will miss the ease of Foxboro.
