Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

There are meetings this week for updates. Sidewalk looks pretty close to opening, which is on pace with Oct 2022 timelines. Project complete includes removing the temporary bridge. That was never the opening date.

    Bulfinch Triangle rezoning

most everything in this picture supports the station. vents and emergency egress on the left, staircase just inside the building on the right. no way for store frontage here. the buildings also needs loading unless you want it occurring in the streets as happens for all the older buildings...

    420 Rutherford Avenue | Charlestown

420 was built as of right based on the old (as of Wednesday) zoning. This is what we would have gotten everywhere west of Rutherford without PLAN Charlestown. No open space, limited ground floor activation.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Staying on schedule is now 'pushing'? You really think the way this went was that 'upper management' found out and told the transportation secretary and the governor and were told to stand down? You think 'upper management' are people that you've heard of before? These decisions were made by...

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

the last bullet in the screen cap in the post above yours states its 800' shorter than existing. How is that 'staying as is'? they are doing exactly what you suggest. the existing under pass currently goes beyond Essex St. As of 2 years ago, the future tunnel will be back to grade prior to...

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

nitpicking a bit here, but again, its not the BPDA plan for circulation. They work with, but are ultimately given the future design by BTD/MassDOT. they are aware of what the future plans/capacity are at this time even if the public isnt. does Huntington Ave and Comm Ave underpasses at Mass...

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

Nope sorry. That's 8 highway lanes becoming 8 urban lanes. Much more narrow. And the reason the lanes aren't being reduced is because there will be signals at each end for pedestrian crossings. Where as now, it's free flow highway. And yes I realize that there is a lane closed in the tunnel...

2 years old but.... Not only not more lanes, but lanes designee to urban standards so a greater reduction in feet than just lanes. https://www.boston.gov/sites/default/files/file/2021/09/june-2021-revised-plan.pdf And the reasoning for the updated design that still hasn't been released...

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

PLAN Charlestown is by the BPDA. They don't design roadways. Sullivan/Rutherford is being designed by MassDOT and BTD. Though I'm sure BPDA has a more up to date idea of what is being designed now than what the public saw in 2021. But it's an important distinction, it's not the PLAN...

particularly, peak period traffic congestion that is not caused by area residents, but regional commuters and highway access. This is definitely the case in Sullivan Sq. Never going to win the congestion battle regardless of the uses around it.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

Not a great pic because the view from the temp ped/car bridge is blocked by the view of the temp utility bridge, but street lights and trellis are going up.

    General Infrastructure

that only works if its only median separated bus lanes that can exit/enter into Charlestown.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Or the consultant is very much aware of this but is showing existing transit in the most positive light possible to counter act people saying this is a 'transit desert', which is much much less accurate than showing an extra bus number on a route that has buses running on it full time. Besides...

BPDA Austin Street Parking Lot Development | Charlestown

Thanks for providing the context. since people on here have at least in an interest (if not more) in urbanism, it always surprises me how people will comment so thoroughly without knowledge of the expected future condition in the area. Obviously we need govt to follow through on those...

Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

The original layout had the this going between NW and SE. Currently, with the activity in the area right now, that would be better. However, long term, when Harbor Way becomes more of a destination, the layout between SW and NE will work better and provide a way between convention center/summer...
