Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I saw someone on twitter say it should have been Salem themed as the Boston Witches, which brought me to the crazy idea of moving the team to Salem and cursing the city with year round traffic. or maybe just october commuter rail service year round

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/41809946/nwsl-newest-franchise-called-bos-nation-fc No longer "NWSL Team," now "BOS Nation FC." Probably the worst name possible for a Boston sports franchise, esp with the Boston Breakers being somewhat iconic, but here we are.

    Eliminate the River Roads?

east boston/north blue line access to an amtrak/commuter station would be a great addition. if we're going to continue to have a north/south disconnect with amtrak/commuter rail, it's never a bad idea to connect another northern part of the city with southern commuter/amtrak.

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

Fare enforcement makes me think of the issues in NYC right now. Fare evasion is a problem even on a cultural level, but the City/NYPD's response is to spend $150mm to recoup around $104,000. And, as we can see, citizens can die over others evading the fare. The best way to do fare enforcement...

Faneuil Gardens | 55 Faneuil Street/266 North Beacon Street | Brighton

concept images for buildings in Boston cheat when they show this much greenery. Yes, I love green space as much as the next one, but show me what it's going to look like in January when there's salt on the ground and we're already on to talking about the NEXT pats season. Oh, it's sad and boxy...

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

for a highway patrol i'm sure 94% of violent criminals caught are speeding. because why else would they look further.

    Biking in Boston

The red asphalt does help, but the sheer amount of dutch cyclists who will run you over if you go into the bike lane is the real reason people notice the bike lanes. no matter how many signs are there, people are going to walk on paths with less people using them. the only way to have a...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

Yeah I think having a Newport-Fall River route, connection at a Fall River/Battleship Cove station that connects to Boston would probably make the most sense.

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

I love this idea. Newport accessibility by rail would be the next big step in South Coast construction I would think. Would make Fall River more of a destination (platform transfer at Battleship Cove would be perfect for tourists), and would allow Rhode Island rail to become more of a network...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

It would be more apt to conflate the word "plantation" with colonialism than slavery. English first started using plantations with the colonization of Ireland and worked as a means to de-gaelicize the Irish living there. Plantations were a major tool of English colonialism by allowing a...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

Too Maryland/Virginia for me. Leave the Kings/Queens to states that had landed gentry.

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

I think there would be more of Friday/weekend rush for New Bedford than Fall River. Areas surrounding New Bedford have more of a "summering" population than Fall River, as well as the ferries to Martha's Vineyard/Nantucket/even cuttyhunk.

Idea for fixing the housing shortage

based on what I could find on wikipedia, RI pays for capital funding on the Providence/Stoughton line, as wells as pays Amtrak for the rights for the MBTA to use Amtrak rail. I'm sure there's more there but I can't find easy proof of it. I'd be surprised if Rhode Island didn't contribute to the...

Idea for fixing the housing shortage

It also takes money out of the city. At least commuters buy lunch/products in Boston, but having that money sent over to wherever they are WFH takes it out of the equation.

    MA Liquor Laws

I'm not super well acquainted with the laws, are licenses 2-4 easier to acquire?

    MA Liquor Laws

We really need "beer and wine" licenses to help fill the gap. It would provide a compromise with the current license holders to still hold onto a license of value, but also allow new restaurants to provide some alcoholic offerings. I'm not even sure if this is something that Mass currently does...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

It might be a little out there, but putting something like a small cafe attached to the underpass would do wonders. I saw some old tunnels on the Siene in Paris that have been converted into Bars/Restaurants, and it guarantees that people are out and about near the area providing oversight for...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I was surprised to find a good amount of public restrooms in SF Public Parks. Thought this wasn't achievable in the US (boston + nyc).
