Chestnut Hill Infill and Small Developments

Bingo - "road diet" for that particular clusterfuck area is the very last thing I would dare do - - that already is a clogged aorta waiting for a heart attack. Traffic there is nightmarish 12 hours per day in both directions. I do like Charlie's subsequent idea though - if anything, do the...

    Forbes Park | Chelsea

The Era of Reduced Expectations in Greater Boston. It IS better than nothing, however. Other cities around the world can do the bigger things, we'll just stay in our rooms and worry about traffic and shadows and make sure Greater Boston never truly urbanizes. In this case, the housing...

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

UNBELIEVABLE - - - the 2026 Marathon takes place in less than 3 weeks and this STILL is not complete?????? This is a bad look for Boston to the rest of the world. 'Heckuva job, Brownie' (or Mayor Wu)...

    Newton Infill and Small Developments

My ol' elementary school from 1969-1976  . But I'm happy for the community.

    1280-1330 Boylston Street, Brookline

It's the Frederick Law Olmstead School of Architectural Renders - - - where the renders need to be at least 40% park-like greenery on the building - - - which will never happen in real life. I can picture the scene now: Manager runs into artist's office "Folks, c'mon, I need you to Olmstead...

Vega (MXD Residential ) | 121 Broadway | Kendall Square

Great transformation project with great technology, but it looks like it still will be THERE with the stacks.

Vega (MXD Residential ) | 121 Broadway | Kendall Square

Man, I know some folks really like smokestacks, but if only that one on the Cambridge side of the Longfellow (Kendall Cogeneration Station?) could move............(yes, yes, I know, it's very important and all...)

    The New Retail Thread

Awesome - and it says it's open daily 7am-11:00pm!!!!! - should be a great addition to this streetscape...

50 Herald Street | Chinatown / South End

I hear ya on a personal basis, but it didn't close - - it moved. Given that area of Newton Centre, I'd venture to guess the cash flow is quite good and they're looking to grow.

50 Herald Street | Chinatown / South End

Wow - that last pic says its moving to 28 Langley Road in Newton - - if I'm not mistaken, that's on the other side of Piccadilly Square in the former CVS next to Johnny's Luncheonette! Easy access to folks using the Green Line. Also may say alot about demographic shifts...

    Aerials

Those are prize-worthy pics!!!! What I love about them is that they capture long-distance, yet don't make the buildings in the distance look fuzzy, shorter and fattter - - they capture the ACTUAL proportions of the skyline. No distortions. Magnificent (y)

Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Redevelopment/Renovation (MIT) | 134 Mass. Ave | Cambridge

Hatred for the museum???? It's the unfortunate ARCHITECTURE and placement that are the problem, not the MUSEUM itself.. See the pic in post #95. -There is one small entranceway at the corner vertex. The rest is a continued fortress wall with no windows. Above the ground level - - no...

Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Redevelopment/Renovation (MIT) | 134 Mass. Ave | Cambridge

I love it too. But there are surprisingly several other really great urbanizing projects under or just about to come online - - - this Met Warehouse is one (with the tremendous PUBLIC benefits of the transparent window sections and the open ivite to the public to access the academic corridors)...

Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Redevelopment/Renovation (MIT) | 134 Mass. Ave | Cambridge

Yes, but at least it provides window transparency and is nicely interspersed within the architecture of a much larger building........as opposed to the stand-alone, almost windowless fortress abominable snowman white cube Holocaust Museum going across from Boston Common/Park Street - -...
