Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Redevelopment/Renovation (MIT) | 134 Mass. Ave | Cambridge

Wonderful! My favorite part in that: ".....The Met’s prominent location at the heart of the expanding university campus allows for a symbolic extension of MIT’s Infinite Corridor from east to west, engaging the city and inviting the community to pass through the building...." THIS...

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

Absolutely. And that family is also free to experience the financial loss in market value on that house (or, really, their children will absorb the loss in market value) in not taking the original deal from the YMCA, before it envelopes that home in a much larger and busier surrounding. But...

    Newton Infill and Small Developments

As a native Newtonian with lots of Brooklinite family, I’d venture to say neither consider that spot anything other than Chestnut Hill.

    The New Retail Thread

Honestly, I just googled "why do people hate dunkin donuts". Man, people really HATE it too. You can do that for every single business. I appreciate your post and there are a lot of good points in it. That being said, Ahhh yes, the threat to independent coffee shops.........Question: over...

    The New Retail Thread

I'm excited for the neighborhood there. It will allow folks to congregate and socialize in that type of setting without having to go down (not that far, of course) to Huntington or cross the street to the Pru. Plus, empty storefronts are just depressing.

West End Library | 151 Cambridge Street | West End

"Discussing"????? Plenty of room for DISCUSSING poor architecture! Everyone, including me, does it all the time. The difference, though, is the rest of us respect the other members intelligence here and GIVE REASONS, instead of just farting out "It sucks" or "It's ugly" like you. In fact...

    The New Retail Thread

Nothing on the internet yet, but my son lives on West Newton Street and he just told me that 250 West Newton (which has been vacant for years) is now sporting "Coming Soon" signs in the windows of a new Blank Street Coffee! Always great to see empty storefronts re-animate and bring more life to...

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

This is one of the nicest architectural additions to the city. Is it even OPEN yet????? What about that great park and pedestrian bridge???? The lack of info on this is sad. It doesn't sound like it has many tenants yet.

Copper Mill Development | Elm Street and Grove Street | Davis Square

Bingo. This seems like it. The developer probably wants a 10 story and knew the populace would have a fit over THAT in Davis. This has "opening gambit" written all over it. The only misstep is that he went way overboard and didn't even make it look somewhat serious. It's like handing in...

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

That's a very tasteful and well-synched up addition .......aside from the assinine cheap looking white frosting crown. Wipe that shit off (or change the color, texture or look of that crown) and you have a great project. .

Commonwealth Pier Revitalization (née Seaport WTC)| 200 Seaport Boulevard | Seaport

Between this and the P+G announcement today of the new $1 billion HQ on Fort Point, things are beginning to look up a little. This summer, the Seaport will be even more dynamic and lively and the next few years will bring a more vibrant Fort Point.

I can only surmise this development all along has been some sort of tax-loss strategy??????

    Tufts Development Projects

I think that concept would actually be pretty fabulous. Hell, Boston has a major train station/transpo hub with a 50 story building over it. .....and it still doesn't excuse the malevolent design of the proposed industrial storage facility.......errr, swim center.
