Kendall Common ( née Volpe Redevelopment) | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

That building in the background? Pretty sure that's the proposed building going up on the north side of the Blue Garage. The current Volpe building is to the left of the render frame.

MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

I work in Kendall Square and I don't think I ever realized until this picture just how close these two cantilevered buildings will be to each other. Kind of looks like a pile of blocks to me now.

One Kenmore Square | 560 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Looks great! Except every time I see that profile view I picture someone on the sidewalk in January getting impaled by a falling icicle. Public space will shrink reallll quick in winter.

    Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

My guess (and this is pure speculation) is that this had to do with driving culture in the 1920s. This was the same time that Robert Moses was building all sorts of tree-lined parkways throughout Long Island - perfect for taking the whole family out of the city with the new Chevy. We got some of...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

So I noticed something this evening that I hadn't noticed before or seen posted on here. Unfortunately I couldn't snap a picture because I was on the bus. I was going over the BU Bridge at sunset looking towards downtown; the reflective notches on both the John Hancock building and Millennium...

Nice pictures, BeeLine! The gradient really falls apart 2/3 the way up. It's like they skipped 3 floors. This last picture is actually a little flattering to what it looks like in person, in my opinion.

    Brookline Infill and Small Developments

A quick update on the two projects that are a block apart on Harvard St. in Brookline. For context, the vast majority of the buildings on this stretch are 1 story storefronts. 455 Harvard St: 420 Harvard St ("JFK Crossing")

MXD II (Google Kendall) | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square | Cambridge

MXDII residential building is ~400 feet and the Volpe site could host a 500 foot tower.

MIT Museum/Book Store | née Boeing | 314 Main St. | Kendall Square

Full row of glass is up now - looks pretty good in person. Mirror sharp. The edges of those small fins extending of the window are sort of a rust/orange color in the renderings, but look a little more mauve/purple in person. Maybe it's the light?

MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

Starting to come together...from the rooftop garden (green garage).

MIT Museum/Book Store | née Boeing | 314 Main St. | Kendall Square

It's going to be primarily "retail" according to Kendall Square Initiative documents but I just searched online for 15 minutes and couldn't find any plans. The only thing I found is this part of a figure from a PDF I stored on my computer from a 2016 planning doc:

MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

They did a few panels months ago and I was worried it would be waaaay too dark, but I'm impressed now!

Proto | 88 Ames St | Kendall Square | Cambridge

Yep. Been 3 times at 8:45 am. They were out of coffee twice and the last time it was lukewarm. Also, this street has really changed over the last year. Anyone who hasn't seen it should take a look at the protected 2-way bike highway/bus island and streetscape. I love how it connects (with...

Proto | 88 Ames St | Kendall Square | Cambridge

Other buildings. A Broad Institute building is right across the street, is the same height, and has a huge bank of windows.

Yes! I was hoping that this would be the location. There is also a flower shop going in next door to it that is opening in February I believe (according to the new sign on the door).

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

https://www.wbur.org/bostonomix/2019/01/09/one-dalton-crane-view Very cool WBUR story about a day in the life of one of the crane operators for One Dalton - and some awesome pictures from the top, including a great shot of how the mechanical floor is hidden :)

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

The light schedule there crossing Mass Ave is easily a minute long wait. I'd take the tunnel every time, no matter the direction. Why wait?

MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

The first facade panels were placed on Building 4 at the end of this week. Seems pretty intricate but looks a little cheap in my opinion. Maybe with morning lighting someone can get a better picture. Also, the first steel is now above ground for the other building going up on Main Street.

    Mixed Use | Wharf 8 & Pier 7 | Seaport

It's a drydock - it's designed for ship building and repair. Water can be pumped in or out of the middle (currently flooded) section, and the solid connector bit on the ocean side is a gate that can open or close.
