I stayed in four different hotels last week, and not one of them had any rooms that ended in 13. For example, I was in Room 211 in the first hotel, and the room next door was 215. It prompted me to check the next three hotels, and sure enough, no rooms ending in 13.

Why in the heck is that observation deck even needed? To see the street below? The views without it seem great. I couldn't care less about looking at the street below if I owned that.

I've found that CMP is actually pretty good at moving their lines and gear to the new pole within a reasonable timeframe. They've subcontracted with On-Target for a lot of this work. It's the others on the pole (Consolidated, Spectrum, etc.) that dog it and take forever to move their stuff (years).

If they used cheaper materials, which is likely given their budgetary constraints, then that blue will fade over time and won't be as bad as it looks today.

The sign previously said "People's United Bank." I believe it was discussed earlier in this thread that either Maine's billboard law or city sign law forced them to use the existing sign structure when M&T Bank acquired People's United Bank.

Yup, the parking lot shaded in darker gray in the above plan is an existing lot, not a new one.

The old fire station? Agreed, that would be a great spot for a bar/pub/restaurant. The empty lot across the street would also be a great spot for a multi-purpose development (ground floor retail/restaurant, 2nd floor commercial, upper floors residential):

I honestly think it could be a great small convention center or a cool concert venue, or both.

If they can't find another developer to take over the residential portion that was supposed to completely block that wall, I agree that a mural would be great. I'd rather they find another developer to finish the project and build a multi-story residential building in that spot.

Word has it that CHOM has pulled out of the project, meaning the residential component is currently up in the air.
