Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

There have been some high level conceptual plans floated to transform the mall, but nothing concrete. Just ideas at this point. https://www.gpcog.org/DocumentCenter/View/1182/Maine-Mall-TOD-Final-Plan-PDF...

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

I stayed in four different hotels last week, and not one of them had any rooms that ended in 13. For example, I was in Room 211 in the first hotel, and the room next door was 215. It prompted me to check the next three hotels, and sure enough, no rooms ending in 13.

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

It's really all relative. Ever fly in or out of Omaha? It serves more than double the amount of passengers as PWM, serves a city seven times the size of Portland, and serves a metro area twice the size of Portland. It's one of my least favorite airports in the country, especially because of the...

    Hobson's Landing | Aloft Hotel | 383 Commercial Street | Portland

Why in the heck is that observation deck even needed? To see the street below? The views without it seem great. I couldn't care less about looking at the street below if I owned that.

The Ultility Poles and Wires of Portland, ME

I've found that CMP is actually pretty good at moving their lines and gear to the new pole within a reasonable timeframe. They've subcontracted with On-Target for a lot of this work. It's the others on the pole (Consolidated, Spectrum, etc.) that dog it and take forever to move their stuff (years).

83 Middle St | CHOM Affordable Housing | Portland

If they used cheaper materials, which is likely given their budgetary constraints, then that blue will fade over time and won't be as bad as it looks today.

Time & Temp Building / Brown St. Parking Garage Redevelopment | Portland

Some discussion at the bottom of page 2 and top of page 3 in this thread on the sign: https://archboston.com/community/threads/465-congress-street-portland.6115/page-2 https://archboston.com/community/threads/465-congress-street-portland.6115/page-3

Time & Temp Building / Brown St. Parking Garage Redevelopment | Portland

The sign previously said "People's United Bank." I believe it was discussed earlier in this thread that either Maine's billboard law or city sign law forced them to use the existing sign structure when M&T Bank acquired People's United Bank.

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

It's this empty lot here (I believe the aforementioned green building in the background):

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

The crane's coming down this week:

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

I lived around the corner from this building about 17-18 years ago and dreamed of buying it and adding two floors.

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

Yup, the parking lot shaded in darker gray in the above plan is an existing lot, not a new one.

Maine Medical Center Expansion | Portland

^ Just imagine what that development would look like through those utility lines! :ROFLMAO:

Maine Medical Center Expansion | Portland

The old fire station? Agreed, that would be a great spot for a bar/pub/restaurant. The empty lot across the street would also be a great spot for a multi-purpose development (ground floor retail/restaurant, 2nd floor commercial, upper floors residential):

    General Portland Discussion

Gordon Contracting is currently working on completing the William Clarke Drive/Saco Street/New Gorham Road/Main Street intersection re-build in Westbrook. As folks can probably imagine, they've managed that project just as poorly as the Congress Square project. I'm sure they'll pivot back to...

    Portland Public Market's future

I honestly think it could be a great small convention center or a cool concert venue, or both.

Westbrook Infill and Small Developments | ME

If they can't find another developer to take over the residential portion that was supposed to completely block that wall, I agree that a mural would be great. I'd rather they find another developer to finish the project and build a multi-story residential building in that spot.

Westbrook Infill and Small Developments | ME

Word has it that CHOM has pulled out of the project, meaning the residential component is currently up in the air.

A couple more up-close shots of the Vertical Harvest and parking garage. This project isn't very photogenic from this angle.
