Good god. Combined with the Chestnut Street Lofts and the back of the Merrill Auditorium, that's going to be an awful stretch when viewing this the I-295 side of the peninsula.

Ironically, the Top of the Old Port parking lot exists today, because the lot was cleared in preparation for that development.

That was Boulos hotel/convention center/arena proposal in the 2000's. The one I replied to was the original huge Lincoln Square project proposed in the '80's. It was scaled back multiple times due to outcry over its size, and It was ultimately doomed by '90-'91 recession.

Funny you should say that. It was a eyesore parking garage for the longest time. Eric Cianchette built that building over the parking garage back in the late 90's/early 00's, and the Historic Preservation Board had absolute fits over the design.

Based on this conceptual rendering from that plan I linked above, it appears the south branch of Long Creek (at least the original course) runs under where I propose putting the stadium, so that might kill that idea. There's still a sea of open surface parking lots to choose from, though.
