What this actually states is "there are poor people everywhere but wealthy people who can afford to choose where they live want nothing to do with red states"

    Biking in Boston

Can't speak to pricing aside from the above but there will be A LOT of expansion. Removing the per-station operating costs for munis outside of Bos/Camb/Somerville is massive.

So the station electrification is planned to be funded by MAPC's federal congestion relief grant. The focus is going to be on the busiest stations. The "support bikeshare operations" in here is going to go towards subsidizing the cost of ebikes for the end user. TBD on the details of that.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Yeah I think the weekend passes are best for people who live in the city and are looking to get out rather than the opposite, but that's not where (I assume) the most demand is.

Roads and Highways General Development Thread

The issue here is that this money has been obligated to this project for years, meaning that there are other projects that never advanced due to the anticipated lack of available funding in the TIP. What it's being shifted to is stuff that could be cobbled together at the last minute, so cost...

I wonder what the point of diminishing returns is on this though. $10 all you can ride is already pretty damn cheap. At what point is lowering it further going to actually cost more versus attracting more riders?

https://mass.streetsblog.org/2026/03/30/healey-admin-announces-summer-fare-discounts-including-free-fridays-on-commuter-rail-system The bring a friend for a discounted rate thing is something that I think could really help drive ridership. Even for a car-light family or a small group of friends...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I believe the statewide ambitions pitch far more than the national one. The reason I'm skeptical of this though is that it doesn't seem like that's the case on any of her other issues. With White Stadium she's happy to ram stuff down black communities throats over the opposition of what she...

Yes and no, I generally agree with you but I don't think anyone is complaining about the general height uniformity of the back bay. Sarcastic?

I think this is a concession to the bad faith argument of people who say they'd be fine with more housing if [X] when in reality X is just an excuse to deny the housing they don't want to exist

Explains things even less I think. People in Iowa don't care whether or not bike lane flexposts were removed on Arlington St.

I'm impressed with the robust polling and engagement you've done in the community. Yes, there are people in the community who have voiced opposition to it. Just like with White Stadium. Just like with Columbus Ave. Just like with every development and every project that has ever been built...

People clearly want the Wu that campaigned, including many of the same people expressing their frustration in this thread. Wu did not campaign on abandoning projects, sacrificing both current and future federal grant funding, and making BTD a place people won't want to work. I don't think this...
