    The MBTA failed miserably at futuring when it planned the OL to Oak Grove, and the RL to Braintree extensions in the 1960s. The thinking then was to terminate the commuter rail lines at the ends of these rapid transit line extensions, rather than continue the commuter rail lines all the way...

    Malls in general are a thing of the past, and there seems to be a trend nationally into redeveloping them into housing. That would be a good conversion for this one.
