The MBTA's Green Line trains on the D Line is reseiving new Crash prevention eqipment to help prevent crashes & derailments. The equipment will be installed on the fronts of the lead cars. This has been a long time coming!! It will save the trains from having so many collisions & derailments...

Now for the first time, the new Orange Line trains will run at 55MPH between Oak Grove & Assembly. Back in the day, this running speeed was unheard of. Hopefully, the new Red Line trains will be able to do the same thing!!!! :)

It seems that Amtrak is on an all-out race to get new equipment in use, replacing all the old trains, starting with the Avelia Liberty high-speed trains, then the Airo trains, new single-level long distance cars, & now new superliners with elevators. I truly hope that all goes well in their bid...

I think that they've been draaging their feet for so long, that it seems like the T has paid even more dough than they planned to spend on the new cars, just so that they can have them all delivered at a reasonable time, & are still getting nowhere fast. :eek:
