There's some red down in places but not many spots - there could be issues with the contractor or the schedule; not uncommon.

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

2.74 miles of the Mass Central Rail Trail (locally known as the Wayside Trail) is nearing completion in Waltham - sounds like the Linden St Bridge part is still a while off. Exciting to see a big chunk of this trail system get closer to Boston. Photos and some deets here...

Boston and the T moving forward with finalizing the Huntington bus lanes near Northeastern, according to SB Mass. Initial bus lane markings they put down are already saving CT2 and 39 riders time.

    Biking in Boston

Good point - A no-brainer way for Boston to take this on is for their public works folks to look at their repaving schedule and then have the bike planners work in tandem with that so that the city can design and stripe bike lanes when they repave. If the city has a strategic bike lane plan...

    Biking in Boston

Absent from this editorial's argument re: bike infrastructure is its quality and connectivity, both of which are much stronger in Cambridge given their policies and plans there. The density of that higher-quality network is much greater, too, which certainly impacts the cycling rates. Boston's...

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

It unfortunately doesn't look like the Blackstone River Greenway was included on the state's recently released priority trail map (supposed to guide state investments in where to build out trails): https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/75ad0564b18f48f5973657d65d2a775d/page/Page/ Has there...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Idk, y'all - bus lanes aren't rocket science - overwhelming majority of the times you prioritize transit on roadways, it results in better conditions for providing service. Not gonna fix everything, but it's a no-brainer start. Still don't understand why so many of the pols around here favor so...

    Biking in Boston

Hampshire St protected bike lanes between Broadway and Inman Square in Cambridge are taking shape: https://urbanists.social/@StreetsblogMASS/110969857575229313 During rush hour, the majority of road users are often on bike. Hopefully that increases with the Inman Square project nearly done and...

I think the issue with the angle of the article is also assuming that public meetings are the "most important" form of engagement? If the city has also talked with hundreds of bus riders outside of public meetings, isn't that also good? Isn't all that feedback legitimate?

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Included in the FY24 budget that Healey signed today: Mayor Wu's sought-after seat on the MBTA board of directors - hopefully this means there will be more of an urban-centered and growth-oriented focus on the board in the years to come...

    Everett Infill and Small Developments

Looks like a great development - like the pairing of apartment building with townhomes. The finishings on the townhomes is especially nice; would love to see this kind of development replicated in every muni in metro Boston.
