Idea for fixing the housing shortage

It's really not cheaper than conventional (at least yet) though clearly better from a worker comfort and safety standpoint and reduces construction waste. It has the promise of reducing construction time but at the expense of longer design times, and when a building takes longer to permit and...

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

It's giving early 2000s background building. More density would have been nice in this location, but I don't hate it.

When your billing rates exceed $800/hour why have quite nice when you can have wicked nice. Also, weren't they sort of spread out across a few buildings?

    Union Square D2.1 | 10 Prospect Street | Somerville

Apparently, you all are hungry. That said, I am here for the Londonization of new buildings monikers, but I guess that requires more than just different colored boxes :/

Its cool, but I feel like they are missing the hat trick with the glass on the recessed part in the middle. Maybe there is still film on it but that greenish color isn't my favor and it is also just a little too much glass... would have been nice to have a contrasting texture. Still a small...

    Block G | 120 Seaport blvd | Seaport sq

I think this render is attempting to show morning sun, the water isn't due north of the park. I am assuming their model is using an actual sun path and followed the other shadow lines. Any in any case, I think its very reasonable to be pro-development but also pro-accurate representation. It...

"Forgot" the shadow though... so cozy.

Stanhope Hotel | 39 Stanhope Street | Back Bay

It doesn't mean they will definitely going to be built, and certainly doesn't mean it will happen in a reasonable timeline. The Back Bay garage development is Boston Properties so I strongly expect those will get built eventually but market conditions, construction costs and rents/demand, will...

    "Dirty Old Boston"

^I am pretty sure its not all been cleared up, there is still combine storm water and sewer lines which in heavy rain overflow to the Charles which is why you cant swim in the Charles unless it hasn't rained in a while to let bacteria levels drop. That said, I am sure its improved since the 70s...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

^ I am pretty sure following the years long hole in DTX the city requires developers to provide an bond for demo work such that if they fail to complete it the city, in theory, has sufficient money on hand to complete the work itself. Whether that would ever happen is a different story.

Not to be that guy, but I wish this was what the building silhouette looked like.

I am by no means qualified to ID mountains at a distance but I took a stab at it nonetheless, anyone else have insights on what's what here?

975 Boylston | Mass DOT Parcel 13 | Boylston & Mass Ave | Back Bay

 I sort of like the base concept but think this proposal is lacking an elegance to make it work. Im thinking the Dresden Museum of Military History as a really beautiful example of using different material and form to create interest and tell a story. My issues here are (1) poor...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Ill take the under on that. I bet it comes down sooner than other properties, namely rental properties. These are condos and that sign is going to inhibit sales by obstructing views and I doubt its going to sell many units on its own.

EXP | 795 Columbus Avenue | Northeastern University

Shame, that penthouse isn't exactly a small detail. This is the sort of VE which I think is troublesome from an entitlement standpoint, this is meaningfully different than what was presented. Otherwise, its appears to be a great building.

Great addition to campus and Columbus Ave. Are they done with the the penthouse screening? I really hope this is still progressing with swing staging or something.... Tom's Photo: The render:

^^I think its interesting they are stabilizing but not using the historic brewery buildings. It sounds like an expensive punt and 20 years from now they will just VE the soccer team or just buy them a bus.

Washington Village | Andrew Square | South Boston

Its my understanding that the 8-12 floor range on most sites just doesn't pencil as its full high-rise construction with concrete or steel but generally without the economies of scale or height to get premium view rents.

Nubian Sq. Parcel P-3 (nee Tremont Crossing) | Roxbury

^^It would have been great to keep that structure in the mix somehow. I hope they have an option on the Good Shepherd Church property, that building deff doesn't need to stay.
