Industrial National Trust (Superman Building) | Downtown | Providence

I'm normally opposed to subsidies but I'd make an exception in this case. It's the most significant building in the state. Tear it down and it fits with Rhode Island's reputation as a state that can't get it together. Curt Schilling fiasco, losing the Pawsox, then this. Individually not so...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

Question: is the building actually being shortened, or does it just seem that way in the render that was posted?

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

This isn't about Beton who as best as I can tell is doing this on his own time. Where are the well funded groups with lawyers on staff who have the resources we've already seen deployed against other projects?

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Let's bring this back to the point, the building in Kenmore square. I've seen various interest groups do everything in their power to delay or kill projects to replace two parking garages and a power plant. I've also seen the IMAX built with nary a peep out of anybody. I don't see what the...

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Doesn't irritate me in the least, since you NIMBY'S have been impotent when it comes to preventing development in an attempt to keep the city like it was in 1950. Perhaps while I'm buying some preparation H I'll see you line at the pharmacy picking up some Viagra! ;)

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Professional NIMBY'S= CLF, Shirley Kressel, etc. If you are in CLF then yes you are part of the problem.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

My understanding is that BU owns the land but leased the buildings to a developer, much like they did with the Hotel Commonwealth.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

This is like reason 1 billion why these NIMBY citizen groups are a joke. They'll go to the mat to save a parking garage and a power plant but not a peep out of them here.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Where the hell were the usual NIMBY'S on this one?

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

It's also shortsighted to think HT residents and the NEAQ are the only NIMBY's here. CLF grifters are only siding with them out of convenience. The minute their interests diverge that happy marriage is over. If there's a chance to 1) condemn the garage and have the owners pay for the demo...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

This makes absolutely no sense. Why in God's name would you want a profit making garage condemned if you're the owner? The minute that happens NIMBY'S will sue to have it torn down and a park built in it's place all on the owner's dime while zoning issues are litigated until the end of time.

You're trying to apply logic to NIMBYISM. My advice is to take two aspirin and wash it down with Goldschlager. Although truth be told that's my solution to a lot of problems... ;)

Stadium & Riverwalk | Tidewater Landing | Pawtucket

Are they really expecting to draw anywhere close to 11k for a 2nd tier soccer league? I took a quick look and average attendance is like 4k for the league. Some teams draw more but they're located in much larger cities than Pawtucket (Orlando, Cincy, etc). Furthermore even the Revs with...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

No tourists show up for the Marathon (generally run in the Spring)? St. Patrick's Day? Patriots Day? New Years Eve?

Stadium & Riverwalk | Tidewater Landing | Pawtucket

So reading the article the city and state are kicking in 50M in public financing to build a soccer stadium in the hopes that a second tier league will place a team there....but they refused to do the same to keep the Pawsox?

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

All Brutalism sucks. It is the worst architectural design in world history. Any effort to get rid of it, even if cladding the building in a trash bag, is an improvement. Sorry to beat around the bush, but sometimes I'm polite to a fault.;)

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

What does IP legal wrangling have to do with the garage? It's probable he set up separate companies for both. But once again, you've failed to answer a basic question. Why would the owners of the garage keep him around if he has zero or minimal equity in the project? You're never shy when...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

    1) I've been in that garage last year, and it appears to be in far better shape than Alewife, and far, far better shape than the Winthrop Square garage. Stellar, no offense, but your speculation regarding this garage has been off base for years. Remember when you used to tell us that Don was...
