Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

According to this map, Kenmore Square is already part of Fenway. http://www.bostonplans.org/getattachment/64c37bd1-21ac-4ec1-9e3b-5fdbcc135823/

In 60 years, will we hate 2020s architecture more or less than we hate most Brutalist architecture now?

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

I really wish that modern architecture didn't shy away from strong cornice lines. It seems to try to downplay the top of the building and hope you don't notice it, but it just comes across as being disingenuous, especially when combined with the sunk penthouse level that's usually a lighter...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

The Big Dig also used custom built railings along the tunnel access walkways that ended up decapitating a motorcyclist, which were not only more dangerous but also more expensive than standard railings.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Unlike a highway overpass, it shouldn't be quite so loud underneath. Could be a nice place for some food trucks!

    UMass Amherst Developments

Yay UMass! Some really nice new campus architecture there, along with good preservation and adaptive reuse of older buildings! Definitely looks a bit different than when I graduated in 2003!

What the heck is going on with architecture these days?! I'm scratching my head about just about everything...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

I really hate this trend of "oh if we make the top floor a lighter color, no one will see it." YES WE WILL SEE IT MORE! Just make it the same color as the rest of the building, or a darker color even.

Better than a lot of the crap that's being built in Boston right now?

Midtown Hotel Redevelopment | 220 Huntington Avenue | Back Bay

Wow the part of the BCDC presentation about 1 Cumberland alternatives is so disingenuous. Asking the proponent to develop workable solutions to a problem they do not want to solve is of course going to result in alternatives that are all unappealing.

761-793 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Needs a stronger cornice and stronger corners, but otherwise ok. I'm just glad they're preserving the existing facades.

Erecting a crane with a crane. So cool! Also, we do not give nearly enough credit to these workers. Talk about not being afraid of heights!

I really wish they had not Urban Renewaled the New York Streets area, or much of Chinatown... or built I-93 or I-90 for that matter...

    Melnea Cass Blvd

I think this was largely about the trees, but it was also made much worse by the broken trust between the community and the City. The City would meet with the community but didn't seem to be truly listening. The consultants were not coming up with good designs and the city staff completely...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

There's nothing citizens hate more than when public officials blatantly lie to them. It's even worse when the public officials try to wrap the lies in data and process. All most people ask for is honesty and transparency. Tell us the options, the real costs, and the tradeoffs. Let's consider...

Prism Apts. | 50 Rogers St | Kendall Square | Cambridge

I don't know why we can just have consistent regular windows. Architects keep trying to make a "statement" by throwing in some asymmetry or random panels. It's really not necessary. I do like the overall look though. The color and the brickwork is really nice.

Midtown Hotel Redevelopment | 220 Huntington Avenue | Back Bay

The Christian Science churched owned all the property in that block during the development of that area in the 1960s, EXCEPT for 1 Cumberland. So when the Midtown Hotel was build, they just built around it. I don't know why there were not able to acquire it though.

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

IIRC, Lechmere only has one faregate for each side of the station.
