And a Christmas tree on the third floor?

    Carney Hospital Redevelopment | Dorchester

I like to think of it this way: I'll assume that a lot of us here play games like Sim City, Cities Skylines, etc. When residents are sick, do you zone commercial and hope that a company builds a hospital or do you plop and maintain one as a government cost? [for those that don't play, the...

    MBTA Construction Projects

There's a couple things at play here though: - Existing red line goes to South Station and this would bring folks to North Station. Looks to be about a 10 min improvement vs switching at park or downtown (not saying that's worth the cost) - Healthpeak (south of tracks) is about half of the...

Longwood Place (Simmons Residential Campus) | 305 Brookline Avenue | Longwood

Construction of the Project can begin upon the completion and occupancy of the new Simmons Living and Learning Center on the Simmons Academic Campus, which allows the existing uses on the Residence Campus to be relocated. The first quarter of 2027 is the earliest that the Proponent anticipates...

Malden + Melrose Infill and Small Developments

https://localheadlinenews.com/melrose-weekly-news-photo-new-culvert-ell-pond-malden-river/ "A new culvert will replace the deteriorated one under the old commercial strip that included Caruso’s restaurant on Main Street. The culvert connects Ell Pond to the Malden River. The developers, in...

401 Park Drive (née Landmark Center) | Fenway

I wonder how this felt from the employee and vendor standpoint. All small-ish operations. Like did they already layoff their staff and cut back / cancel deliveries and now need to somehow reestablish them ASAP?

    Revere Infill and Small Developments

I don't understand why they made the track-side sidewalk absolutely gigantic and left no room to continue the sidewalk level cycle track on the other side without removing parking. There was plenty of room in the right of way for sidewalk bike lanes on both sides AND parking...

    MBTA Construction Projects

Let me rephrase. What I'm interested in is what was the cost and time difference in quotes from Suffolk vs the other handful of contractors that are all actively working on MBTA contracts? Why add it as an irrelevant change order to Symphony Station vs the others ongoing? I'd have to imagine the...

    MBTA Construction Projects

The question I wanted an answer to (and that was missing from the article), was did the MBTA overpay because of this or was the price reasonable? Hard to know what would have resulted from a competitive process, but if the AG is letting this slide, it would be nice to at least know if we were...

    Morrissey Boulevard Redesign

I've always thought that if they removed the direct NB off ramp from 93, that would encourage some drivers with non-local destinations to stay on the highway, at least until the K-Circle/Columbia Rd exit. If they really want to take Morrissey to get to UMASS or BC High, etc. they could get off...

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

That's a photo of a tree being trimmed in front of 39 Hemenway. 43 is next door to the left. (obviously not your fault stick, but it's weird of bldup to post it)

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Can they really be considered new renders if posted by a fan account and include the description "The designs do not reflect the final design of the stadium per the team"?

Confirmed that Nan Xiang is not reopening, at least under that name. New restaurant "Novo Lantern" taking its spot. Signs are now up.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Reminder that basically only the media finds the stadium to be some sort of huge issue for Wu. She did very well in the election not only citywide, but even in the precincts around the stadium and park. So while I do think there are certainly many people upset about the project, it is nowhere...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I'm not saying it automatically becomes "Alternative B", but during a design charette or internal options matrix, it might get included. Definitely still need to show up to community meetings to show support too!

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

A great reminder that some of the actual planners and engineers on these projects (both public and private side) are either members of this forum or at least read it. If you have a good idea or solution, there's a good chance that by just posting it, you've essentially proposed it to the project...

    Biking in Boston

I echo as02143's comments. It's really not intended to be a direct person in car to person on bike change. People circling blocks for parking is a real issue, not to mention ride share trips. Personally I know that I use the bike lane streets when biking more than I used to and now I visit...

South End Infill and Small Developments

Looks like they closed September 1 according to what the flyer had said. They were deferred for an incomplete application at the August 6 licensing board meeting and have not yet returned for approval of an alcohol license. As far as I can tell, no work has taken place since the closure.
