Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part XX (2026)

When were you up there, David? I saw a young man with a very nice camera exiting the monument not long before the wife and I went up. A shame we got so little time but I'm just glad I was prepared and got some cool shots.

    Boston Skyline Photos

Well kudos to my parents for dropping my camera back off with me today. Some great stuff, even if shooting through the wire was worse than shooting through the catchfence at Daytona. Incredible views from the tower and it should be open way more often.

    Boston Skyline Photos

You got some great shots, I was up there too but don't know what I got because I left my camera at my parents' house 🤬. Same issues as you, though, the chicken wire was playing havoc with the focus. We'll see what I came out with eventually...

Northeastern University Multipurpose Athletic Facility | 262 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

As great as the Hub on Causeway is, I wish they had kept the shell of the old Garden for some adaptive reuse, like the Montreal Forum or Maple Leaf Gardens - the latter of which is still a hockey arena, with a 3000 seat capacity rink for Ryerson University at the top of the structure, over a...

Vega (MXD Residential ) | 121 Broadway | Kendall Square

The wife and I were discussing the closure of the Pru's observation deck bars on the way into the city today and it hit me that this would be a perfect spot for a rooftop restaurant. Probably a non-starter with it being residential but the views would be incredible.

    Nexis4Jersey's Photo Showcase

It's a shame to see the Inner Harbor so quiet nowadays. The vibes were always great there whenever I visited. I know they're still figuring out what's going to happen with the mostly-vacant Harbor Place buildings, whatever it is I will be sad to see them go as they are another example of PoMo...

    Cars

When Eddie Bauer declared bankruptcy this week, the first thing I thought of were those old Fords. In a lot of ways, they were the precursor to true luxury SUVs, an off-roader with a bit of class. That dark green EB Explorer may actually be the most purely 1990s car. My parents got a 2nd gen...

Ah, those first gen Explorers were understatedly handsome. The Back Bay snow photos are so timeless.

Simmons University Living and Learning Center | 300 Fenway | Longwood

I got this photo at the Celebration of BLS back in the fall, the new building really looms over Latin (and the rest of the street).

    The New Retail Thread

I've been on this constantly on here but it is incredible how exclusionary the redesigned mall is. A sterile, uninviting place to be, full of stores with items out of reach for anyone but the top 0.5%. There's a major paradox with places like this. The rich obviously don't want to be bothered by...
