    Providence developments

This is going to be such a good anchor to that end of Atwells. For as good of an urban neighborhood as it is, Atwells has so many annoying, anti-urban parcels. I'd love to see the bank parking lot across from DePasquale Square turned into something. Same for this massive parking lot. And 3 of...

Middletown Center | West Main Rd. | Middletown R.I.

Branding it "Middletown Center" before it's even close to finalized is probably hampering their efforts since the name makes it sound intriguing/interesting. Like it would be an actual town center with interesting features, gathering places, and amenities that residents would use. What they have...

Food Hall | Union Station | Providence

Nice pics! It seems like that construction in front is taking forever. It'll be nice when the patio/plaza space if fully open.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

This one was painfully obvious since it was so focused on emphasizing "Patriots Day 2025" (wrong year as well) that it missed the bigger reason for temporarily ramped up flights to beach towns in the Southeast - April vacation week.

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

This is 100% what I saw at PVD. Employees (most in uniform or with Amtrak branded gear at least) occupying seats like paying customers, but conductors were standing at doors like it was a normal in-service train. The signs above the doors read "not in service," however, so it was pretty clear...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I read the same thing. Their new first class suites look fantastic (they'll be on the A350s from the start). Potentially among the best in the sky, but I'll almost certainly never get to experience them. The business upgrades look good too. In line with modern standards (doors, big screens...

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

I'm assuming the labels are just not placed exactly as the gates will be once they're installed. They look to be purely informational. They'll probably end on either side of the elevator too (so that the elevator doors will be outside of the gate controlled zone just like the escalator), but it...

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

PVD this afternoon. Sitting on track one with a lot of crew and no passengers. Presumably training?

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

If If FR can ever get ferry service from their state pier (they’ve had starts and stops with Newport and Block Island ferries) to stick, they may have a strong case for seasonal service at least. But short of that, it’s hard to argue that it’s worth it.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Great news, looks like BOS is the first LX market in the world to be served by the A350. I just returned from FLR via ZRH and those A333s are tired. Flew out J and back Y and they're still comfortable (particularly in Y because they're not slimline seats), but they feel their age (especially in...

    Providence RIPTA Services

Generally, I agree with the idea that fixed rail transit is better at increasing ridership than any bus service, no matter how it's branded. But as a Providence resident, I don't think this particular LRT alternative would have that effect. It'll be slow running with mixed traffic (potentially...

    MBTA Construction Projects

There's a commuter rail purple stripe on the floor in front of the platforms at South Station that looks to be outlining where the fare gates are going. It says "Tap to Enter" with some graphics of phones and cards or something similar on it. Maybe it's been there for a bit, but it's the first...

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

Are you positive it was in revenue service and not just testing? If so, that's awesome! I've seen a few of these (as recently as last Thursday) on tracks between Boston and Providence, but I assumed they were test trains.

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

It's about 1/2 a mile away. The ferry and MBTA share the same parking lot (Whales Tooth), and there are free shuttles going back and forth. But it's about a 10 minute walk in practice. Not bad.

    Providence RIPTA Services

As much as I'd love an LRT line or two in Providence, the smart play is for BRT for all of the reasons already mentioned.

    Providence developments

No intel, but it does seem a bit aspirational to me too. A lot of the right buzzwords and "goals," but fairly light on substance.

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

Do you have a link/source for this? Frontier briefly tried PVD back in 2022, but it didn't last long. I'd be kind of surprised if they gave it another shot now considering their own issues combined with Breeze making PVD a hub.

Mt. Washington Resort - Bretton Woods

This was my experience too. My wife and I stayed a few years ago and really felt the experience was a let down considering what it could/should be. The potential is plainly obvious. It's a stunning old structure in a fantastic setting with incredible views. It should be an out of this world...
