OMG PLEASE put up a 16 Story Building at LEAST.

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

Not to mention those who come to a complete stop before taking a right-hand turn. Even at the most open, visible, wide intersections. It's EVERYWHERE ... WHYYYYYYY?

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

It "may" be worth noting or considering that the drop in numbers is due to the pandemic and rise in work-from-home options. Despite the developments for WEX, Covetrus, and the Sun Life buildings - we may never see full capacity onsite workers traveling to these sites. However, the Foreside...

165 Washington Ave | Northern Burner Supply Redevelopment | Portland

Catherine - People are, and certainly can be, unequivocally stupid. They rely on hearsay or cherry-pick the little gobbets of information they barely paid attention to. They've simply heard "Washington" and "Orchard" and "Effect" ... along with hearing about some of the early misinformation...

Mercy Hospital | 144 State Street | Portland

This has turned out to be a stunning development. It blows my mind that anyone balked at this and would rather look at the crappy parking lots and the old ER section of Mercy. This is a huge improvement to the neighborhood.

    That is well done!

    Hobson's Landing | Aloft Hotel | 383 Commercial Street | Portland

Blows my mind that people were like ... but the lumber yard! It's okay that it moves, changes hands, consolidates. Now look at that street view. Makes so much more sense for Portland. And it all fits right in beautifully. One word: Cohesive.

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

I love how it seamlessly fits into Portland. I was in the Old Port Saturday and Sunday. It feels like the Casco has been there for a while.

    Maine state flag preference?

    Hmm ... 1169 isn't bad either.

    South Portland, Maine

    Brilliant

    Maine state flag preference?

I agree with this sentiment, though not sure where the placement would be without ruining the simplicity of the design. But I like "Dirigo".

    Hobson's Landing | Aloft Hotel | 383 Commercial Street | Portland

I'm so glad they did the curved corner. It almost creates a perfect end to the line of buildings on Commercial kind of like the Hay Building in a sense. More attractive this way.

    General Portland Discussion

I think the Walgreens on Congress was slated for a rebuild like 15+ years ago to include a drive through pharmacy, but never happened. This would be PRIME real estate to redevelop. It's a great spot and frankly ugly. I'd love to see somethin nicer there - like another Hiawatha lol. :)

Apparently the building with Frog & Turtle is for sale - including the restaurant business itself.

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

There are lots of shade-loving plants that would make the place look lush without trees. With the right planning (and planting!) it'll be great.

337 Cumberland Ave | PHDC Affordable Housing | Portland

Should be at least 3 stories taller. They'll probably end up cutting a floor instead. Someone wants to save the church, they should sell it for $1 for the stipulation that it needs to be moved. The End.

Cold Storage Facility Redev | 40 West Commercial Street | Portland

I also recall people balking about this development because it would block their views of the water when they commute to Portland. The old speak about "entitlement" to views was raised and so on, and you know how that battle goes. So I checked out said view several times by car to see this...

Westbrook Infill and Small Developments | ME

This is the kind of development, infill, and density Westbrook needs. It's sleek and sexy, albeit common in design. Glad they thought outside of the proverbial "box" by not doing square/rectangular buildings.

That's this location from a couple years ago. Some scrappy buildings. 110 Units here sounds appropriate.

Maybe I didn't see or read it anywhere, but they should actually physically connect this to the Expo Building itself.
