Portland Museum of Art Expansion | Portland

Yeah ... sorry, I hate the "Saw-Tooth" factory-esque roof. Seemed like the design included a lot of waste and the windows would cause light and heat issues that would affect any art exhibited there.

Drove by and saw the entire wooded area has been cleared. Looks like it's moving forward. Much needed and good location.

It'd be a pity if the building accidentally collapsed ... lol

    General Portland Discussion

I couldn't find the thread on Franklyn Arterial, but there's an update: Portland Council hears update on Franklin Street redesign PPH Text: The city plans to apply for federal funding and begin work later this decade on a project that was approved in 2015 in an effort to make the area safer...

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

Let's not forget Kennedy Park and Payson Park. There can always be reconfiguration/consolidation/centralization of Baseball/Softball/Little League Fields and Soccer/Lacrosse/Field Hockey Fields. While Back Cove was torn apart for the storm water tanks, if grass fields are planted on top of...

I thoroughly enjoy commenting on the PPH articles. I'm so over it.

    Biddeford/Saco Developments

This route is in desperate need of a traffic circle. The light at Water Street/Pepperell Square>Front Street stops all traffic from flowing on Main Street. Gets completely backed up and at a complete stop all the way through Main Street on the Biddeford side. And then the traffic/light coming...

Been in that building. Would be a gorgeous new facade.

89 Elm Street | Port Properties Bayside Phase 1A | Portland

Too bad we tore down all those more interesting and beautiful buildings that we can't afford to rebuild, then. This goes for pretty much everywhere across the country.

Nothing like making Portland look like an Eastern Europe that didn't age well ....

Can we please make the exterior more interesting? I think Portland is getting tired of this design.

It'd be a "pity" if an accidental fire destroyed the Bean Factory building slated for saving. Out of everything that SHOULD have been saved in Portland, this isn't one of them. Oh well.

    Historic Portland Discussion

The USM traffic circle is purely utilitarian. Similar to a couple of circles out near Gorham. Portland needs a dozen more of these all over the city (and SoPo, Scarborough, Windham, etc etc) to make traffic flow better. I think circles are so foreign to Portlanders that if you made it too...

    Portland Bayside

I like it - just wish they were taller and looked a little less like Eastern Europe. But I won't complain, this development is more likely to happen than Foreside or Portland Square

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

Resurgam is the Portland Motto. Phoenix may work in reference to the great fire. I would prefer something indigenous for the "spirit of place" and history (and not just a casual shrug of a reference, a legitimate one). Algonquian or Wabanaki Nation would fit. Abenaki, Mi'Kmaq, Maliseet...
