Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

Why is my argument so difficult to understand? With a finite amount of resources available for lending and construction (particular construction workers), everything that gets built here is a potential opportunity cost that permanently shelves more exciting projects downtown. We have seen...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

I'm just saying that I would like to see it languish for... a long time. I'm not saying it's going to happen that way or that I know of any specific means to make that happen. However, in my perfect world, the lack of development in areas such as this would spur a greater sense of urgency to...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

I have an opinion which I am entitled to. I go out of my way to actually attempt to defend my opinions, which most people seem too lazy to bother doing. You have an opinion that doesn't match my opinion. Guess what, just like me, YOU ARE JUST ONE PERSON. So the world doesn't revolve around...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

Nobody here seems to understand my argument. You point out that the area, as currently constituted, SUCKS. Well, you know what doesn't suck yet has a ton of empty, development ready lots? Downtown near NS, downtown near SS, Fenway, Kenmore, Kendall.... I'd rather see all efforts poured into...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

I always found you to be one of the more impressive posters on this site, but I am really disappointed with you today. Having an off day? Step 1: Satisfy the current and near-future demand in spots that make more sense. This includes downtown (particularly wasteland that still surrounds...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

Nobody suggested that. The massive group of 500fters should be built downtown to absorb the demand, and this site should be left alone for about 2-3 more decades (maybe after they move the airport, which will never happen, they can redevelop half of East Boston, which should never happen).

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

You misunderstood the post. I ignore it most of the time, BECAUSE it is hard to get to! That's based on many past experiences! I still drive by Suffolk Downs at least a couple of times a year. I know what it's like over there. The rest of Eastie towards the airport gets progressively worse...

⚫ Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

As long as we aren't looking at Plywood Palace 2.0 I can live with the growing pains.........

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

Cambridge doesn't have the harbor acting as a barrier between itself and downtown. There are many crossings across the Charles, and Harvard is a nexus for bus routes as well as on the better-run (than blue) red line. East Boston feels much less accessible. I hardly even go there now, even...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

This exacerbates a transportation crisis that will ultimately be viewed as even more dire than the housing crisis. There is still room for a LOT of growth in and around downtown, near subway stations. Why stop at 2-3 towers when we could easily absorb 20-30? I'd rather see that growth...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston

I hope nothing gets built here for at least 20 more years. I don't think they have thought this through very well. (in particular, traffic/congestion) Also, we already have plenty of uninspiring schlock sucking away demand from the big projects downtown, particularly in the Seaport and North...

    Parcel P-12 | 286-290 Tremont St | Chinatown

It looked better with the tab thing on top. The window alignment also looks different, and the whole building seems bit more squared off. Did they also add 1 floor towards the bottom?

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

It's actually kind of sad to think that a lot of these great views of the tower from the North Station area and other points north will be obscured so soon! With that said I would rather have that State Street Tower ASAP than the unimpeded view of this. That's the building that will tie the...
