    Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

This is right across from the chapel that holds the Saints Cosmas and Damian - wonder if the Gaetani concerned that their neighborhood is being even more run over by people not from their group. Maybe the East Cambridge feast doesn't last another decade?

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

Generally, you don't want your customer service people to be fare cops. A rider won't know what to expect from seeing a red-shirt.

Vega (MXD Residential ) | 121 Broadway | Kendall Square

I thought Mass was going to lose the precious millionaires by taxing incomes above a million?

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

I'm going to disagree about considering this being a "good" combination in that livery - the cream looks a bit sickly.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

It seems like not every intersection /needs/ turn lanes and this location left turns are probably better at Parker and if you realllllyyy need it - just create a U-turn lane to make a Michigan left at the firehouse.

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

The zoning categories should be defined at the state level. The localities should have by-laws which create the maps and special zoning statutes for Boston, central Boston cities on the subway, and gateway cities for strategic development purposes.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

The T should seek from the legislature a single action that requires cities to furnish permits within 90 days, no longer, for all permits they request to accomplish the regional rail vision. Get the NIMBYs to take many many seats.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

The theory that I've heard is that transit isn't necessarily a direct driver to increases in land values - evidenced by way too much low-value land near transit in this country. Where land values bump it is very much related to the centrality of jobs on the transit network - all the traditional...

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

So the test group is really limited? That is, just the rare few folks who get a monthly or weekly linkpass and pay full price at the machine?

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

They failed to learn the lesson of more successful efforts to curb the far-right or a Pyutinist/Orbanist, that is, the liberal party's job to promote liberal democracy is to isolate the far-right by campaigning with the left.

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

Illinois has the history of political disfunction and they broke through. Is Little Rhody too disfunctional to create a breakthrough on their transit system?

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

You could be a spooky leaping lord for Halloween with that statement. The chart is from a study that relied on a sample of less than 396 people in the US which was heavily White. Methodologically interesting to use network mapping, but, the eight topics they measured were biased - they picked...

It's amazing what a 2% wealth tax is going to give us in the US, were we to get it - and that would be a world in which Elon's or Bezos' or any Tony Stark-like dude's wealth would continue to grow at a good clip. Honestly with a 3-4% wealth tax would actually give us enough money to start...

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

Sadly, this is true. It is not a moral position, but, it is a common one. It's in many ways similar to the one that many people had about gay marriage, racial intermarriage, even civil rights - even as those things were being accomplished. However, that he broadcasts these thoughts says...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

The State has been trying to make Devens a thing now for how long. There's no economic "there" along Route 2 or the northern reaches of the Connecticut River valley, despite how good it looks in a crayon. Like in the UK, there's no reason to send trains with overlapping fast/semi-fast/local...

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

He's consistently said transwomen athletes are "male or formerly male" which is well known as both a far-right talking point imported from the UK and a harmful way to exclude transwomen athletes. His direct quote from the post-election wrap-up is “I have two little girls, I don’t want them...
