View Boston (Observatory) | Prudential Tower | Back Bay

That's great news. The restaurant kinda sucked, so I'm fine with this.

Boston University - Warren Towers Renovation | 700 Commonwealth Avenue | Fenway

BU has an endowment surpassing $4 billion. So it's not Harvard by any stretch of the imagination in those terms, but it/they can still afford whatever the fuck they want.

The Marc (former Our Lady of Victories Church) | 25-29 Isabella Street | Bay Villiage

I like the Lucas better. This was a meh/boring church to begin with. I guess I'm glad they sort of preserved it just b/c most new development is alucobond, offset window boredom?

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

    The beer garden probably.

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

Just curious how many folks who are trashing the new design/revamp have actually been there in-person vs. just seeing things via pix on aB. Everything like this is subjective and I don't think it's perfect, by any means (and 100% agree that the stretch of Dartmouth that blocks the plaza off...

late '80s, actually, but who's counting

    Proposed watertown ferry

Certainly impractical as daily transportation, but if you live in or near Watertown and it's nice weather and you have time for a leisurely boat ride to Boston? Sure, why not? (Edit: they should stop referring to it as a "commuter ferry," though -- fully agreed on that)

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

This. Also, even with the open archways, those impressive arched ceilings are going to become fairly soot-covered sooner than I'd like to imagine (and given the T's horrible track-record of maintenance/cleaning, this could be awful -- unless maintenance of the arches come under the purview of...

Flickr Finds & Social Media Pics

My HS architecture teacher thought 1 Financial was a gorgeous example of ribbon fenestration. I quite like it from the "skinny sides" in a very '80s aesthetic way (especially now with the lighting at night), but the fat sides are pretty awful. Unfortunate that one of those fat sides gets some...

B, C, and D trains stop at Hynes, yes.

50 Herald Street | Chinatown / South End

Very true, though I enjoyed the "Dirty Old Boston"-ness of it.

50 Herald Street | Chinatown / South End

Good point. Mine was a largely selfish reaction, although I do feel that developments like this one speak to the increasing diminishment (that's a word, right?) of Chinatown.

50 Herald Street | Chinatown / South End

That's a bummer it closed. I'd occasionally go there for cooked duck eggs and wacky-flavored potato chips on my lunch break. There's another similar market just down the street, but still: a loss.

    The New Residential Conversion Thread

That's fascinating (to me), because I've spent my life assuming those *were* residential towers.

, unfortunately, the 9-5 prevents. WFH is great, but it won't allow for this. :( glad you got to go inside and up, though.
