City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

I don't know? Maybe ask the guys maintaining the Hatch Shell and the Esplanade what their secret is considering they hold the July 4th celebration there every year. Chicago also does a good job maintaining Grant Park despite hosting Lollapalooza every year

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Yeah I don't get it either. They should have just committed to having more greenery. The top part sort of gets it right but the rest is just too much bricks

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

This is the mother of all background buildings in Boston

Except this site was a condemned parking garage slated to be demolished. If Hurley, Hynes, and other sites were designated the same, I'm pretty sure Menino would have pushed for it. This isn't about a lack of foresight, but rather taking what opportunity was given to him.

Couldn't even get the dates on the signs right. https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2022/08/18/mbta-signs-incorrect-dates-orange-line-shutdown/?p1=hp_featurestack It feels like there is zero quality control in the MBTA and I doubt they are going to get things right during the shutdown

I've never seen Missouri so I don't believe it actually exists

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

I, for one, am glad they picked the cable stayed design. Boston lacked modern landmarks and this bridge was one of those rare opportunities for the city to build something defining and recognizable

As long as the LRT or tram doesn't run on the Green Line. The Green Line can barely handle Red Sox loads

The MBTA has been a shitstain for years and I'm glad that this is finally coming to light. I've lost faith in the MBTA to be able to run a transit system competently the day a disabled Silver Line at South Station was enough to shut the whole Seaport Silver Line down. Maybe actual change and...

At what point will they deconstruct the tower a la The Harmon I'm Las Vegas

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

I was actually expecting a different name on the list haha. I have a friend who's brother climbs skyscrapers as a hobby; I found a video of him climbing the Wilshire Grand Tower in LA. I honestly don't know how you and they muster the courage to do those climbs, and get past security.

Umm....some of those names are familiar to me.... Edit: checked the instagram profile of some of them...they've already climbed the tower once before in June

Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

There's a video that I posted by B1M in the Other Cities development thread or whatever it is called that talked about this. They were intentionally trying to densify as much as possible around the train station which they should since it's a more efficient use of space and makes the most out of...

Boston needs to emulate how Toronto builds out TODs around train stations

New Red and Orange Line Cars

I think you misunderstood. It's the lack of funding that likely contributed to the fact that they didn't buy new vehicles to replace their current fleet that is over 40 years old earlier. As a result, a battery explodes and now you have this bruhaha over having to run vehicles on their last...

Better that they have discovered this now than finding out after a collapse a la ceiling panel falling and crushing a car like the Tip o'Neill tunnel. Honestly more bad discoveries right now is a good thing. It forces the politicians to actually do something about it and spend on infrastructure
