The money poured into this one park could have fixed up and built endowments for so many other parks all across the city, but a single rich guy couldn't call all the shots that way so we get this park that looks good in pictures but is barely accessible.

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

So what is the actual timeline of future events with the garage? When does the Harbor tower parking easement end? Their mechanical easement? how long until the garage is structurally in need of a renovation? I'm sure I could dig back and find this else where on the site but I feel like someone...

also, for those height people out there, at 163' this will be the tenth tallest building in Worcester.

The Cove | Green Street | Worcester

I know this seems crazy, but this building is technically only 4 blocks and less than 2,000 feet as-the-crow-flies from the tallest building in Worcester. it may seem like it is tall for the area, but that is because they don't have 600 Main Street in any of the renderings.

    Worcester Kelley Square

I don't think the point of the peanut is to make things easier, it is to make things safer. For pedestrians and bicycles it seems to be doing that in spades. I haven't heard about car accident rates with the new design but from purely anecdotal evidence it seems to work for cars too.

The issue with murals painted on walls is that you need to have funds to keep them up. When I was in grad school we looked into doing our final scenic painting project on a retaining wall just like this one, but the city said no becasue we would need to not just supply the art but also thousands...

Looks like the Lucky Dog will be torn down for "the Gold Block". 318 apartments is nothing to shake a stick at, but I cant help but feel a sense of loss at losing the Lucky Dog. https://patch.com/massachusetts/worcester/amp/29452218/318-apartment-development-proposed-in-worcesters-canal-district

I think one of the things we are missing with the "most expensive minor league ball park" is the timing of the construction. This was built over the pandemic when materials prices soared. Sheets of CDX ply were up to almost $100 a sheet for a while. Yes, it was more expensive than it should have...

Not another hospital looking like its eating a historic structure. Mass Eye and Ear was 1 too many. Does this make 3 now?

I'd bet that has to do with lighting. Keep the old lights in place until you put in new ones so you dont need to install tons of temporary lighting.

its super industrial looking in a "built in the 1960's warehouse" sort of way, but so is the area where they put it. interesting contextualizing and nostalgia for a period and building type people don't usually think about, I'd have to go see it to make up my mind on if it works or not.

They are reaching up, and with a little bit of scale optical illusion it would be so easy to make it look like its about to grab someone's junk or chest. Do I need to do the photoshops? Im sure i cant be the only one seeign this as what is going to happen... this view is the most egregious side...

@stick n move , I appreciate your optimism, but a giant statue of hands won't be having people hugging under it no matter what the renderings say. The pics people will take are lewd optical allusions where it looks like the hands are grabbing at body parts, people flashing hand gestures infront...
