it shouldn’t be labeled as “controversial”. Anyone who argues that this is not a necessary step towards a new garage isn’t educated on the situation. It’s too bad. Crossing my fingers for tonight
Looking like they’ll be on pace for around an impressive 7% increase in enplanements year over year. Last year was a record of course, continuing to grow and honestly lots more room to grow from here. Excited to see what’s down the road for 2026.
You don’t think a streetcar/tramway service like you see in small cities in Germany or even in the US (Little Rock, Norfolk, El Paso, or Memphis) would work eventually in Portland?
I think it would be a chance to set an example for small cities across the country. Especially is there were...
Yes! A rail line that could serve downtown, the Roux Institute, East Deering, Falmouth, Cumberland, and Yarmouth! With 295 being a complete joke, this could have been an amazing, affordable alternative for the area.
We have said this before, and I won’t rant about it again, but… Portland deserves more than a couple platforms surrounded by industrial warehouses, a prison, strip malls, and parking lots.
Currently (as of Wednesday) the garage is full and they’re sending people to the pink and employee lots!
I get that there are crazies who are too bored to focus on anything but delaying progress at the Jetport, but this surface lot expansion needs to happen to be able to build the future...
Lol so glad I don’t have to fly out of BTV as my #1 option. Skinny pancake is their only option for food and it’s almost never open. We are so lucky with PWM
Didn’t realize how prominent the garage would be! Hope the housing is even more prominent in phase two. Roux is building with the future in mind in many senses but they may have overlooked how important housing (eventually) 2,000+ students will be.
Direct to IAH completely full on the 76 seater. Hope that route continues to do well and we see mainline service next year. Denver seemed to do really well per usual for United as well.
Anyone attend the first planning board meeting? Maine Public posted on all of their platforms trying to make this project sound bad the day before yesterday’s meeting… classic. Wondering how the turnout was.
I just really don’t understand it. This is a vacant surface lot 99% of people have...
Amazing the difference that 20 minutes makes! If only the Mainers and tourists that utilize the East End trails didn’t have to walk through a massive, lifeless gravel yard to get to and from Downtown and the East End.
Check out the Narrow Gauge rolling through in the cloudy pic. If only the...
Nice!! Do you think there’s ever going to be a future where that part of the terminal gets higher ceilings (a face lift is you will)? I know there’s tons of wiring/piping above the current ceiling but if that ceiling were raised even 10 feet it would make that part of the terminal feel way less...
I’d like to think the guy with his hands on his head is a NIMBY panicking while looking at all those cranes casting shadows on the once beautiful Back Cove!😂
