990 American Legion Highway | Hyde Park

While I don't like the project at all, what else can you say when it's "fully compliant with the 14-acre parcel's zoning, which [...] means the planning department cannot keep blocking it". It's hard to change zoning, but that's not really the developer's problem at the end of the day, is it...

Dot Block | Dot Ave, Greenmount St, Hancock St | Dorchester

I got a notice for an abutters meeting concerning Chilacates moving into one of the vacant spaces at Dot Block. That would join the (still under construction) Dot Block Diner and Sweet Teez.

Permitted hotel for sale | 188 High St | Downtown

How did it end up getting so short? Renderings showed it 7 stories and same height as abutting building, but as-built is looks 10+ feet shorter while still being 7 stories?

    Biking in Boston

Is the tool new or the data? For example I noticed that they label the Mass Ave bridge as needing separation, even though it's had it for a handful of years now? (also all the labels misspell 'separated bike lane')

    Biking in Boston

It's been like that since August-ish? BWSC has been replacing a deep water main on Mass Ave. Bikes had been detoured onto the sidewalk to go around. They started pulling back portions of the jersey barriers about 2-3 weeks ago now that work is finishing up.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

"as residents remain split" “This is wrong, my neighbors and I are fighting, my community is divided, and we have people who can stop this, but they won’t listen to us,” It's almost as if they think there will be some sort of unanimous opinion on this if they have a couple more meetings. It's...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I think it's ok to admit that the bus lane wasn't working as intended. It was always full of cars. It's tough to have a bus lane when it's plagued by double parking. You could say more enforcement was needed, but it gets to a point where the level of effort to keep it clear doesn't match the...

    Roslindale Infill and Small Developments

I assume they did the 4th floor in that black and stepped back to make this not look so "large", but because of the grade of the street and this being ground level (no couple steps up to ground floor), it actually looks too short to fit in properly.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Out of all the things happening in the city, I find this 'debate' very interesting. It feels almost manufactured by media outlets who cannot wait to write the next clickbait outrage article using a couple people as proxies. Like none of my neighbors talk about it or even care. "Oh, a new stadium...

Roads and Highways General Development Thread

It IS very difficult for a municipality to be shovel ready. Cities and the people that work for them have many 'great ideas'. Let's say they want to use federal funds for something they think is worthwhile. To be shovel ready, you almost need to ignore the community process and then ram the...

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

I usually just look at the presentation slides, but since you provided the video, I listened to that too. However, I still couldn't understand what they meant by "Install new Red and Orange Line vehicles" and "Create new designs for Blue Line vehicles". Very bizarre wording and neither were said...
