My original post was inspired by the NCAA regionals playing out at various locations......but I could really care less if Portland never builds another facility as long as it exists. Just build more high rises and open more restaurants.....that is the future of Portland, Maine.

10K+ Maine fans did not travel from Northern (ie. North of Augusta) Maine to Boston. Maybe 2K from Augusta North.....the rest from other areas. Yes.....schools have alums that live everywhere. And there are a ton of UMaine alums that live in the Greater Portland and Boston areas.😉

One thing that I always find really bizarre is how people think that everyone who attends a Maine game is traveling from Orono.😂😂😂 It's almost like people don't get that most who attend or have attended UMaine are from Southern Maine or out of state. And there is only one D1 athletic program...

None of those factors actually matter. There will be more Maine fans in Allentown than Penn State fans in Allentown. But you guys keep beating that anti-UMaine drum. :rolleyes:

Regional host Penn State is 165 miles from Allentown.

I know that this has been talked about a lot but I'm watching cities like Manchester & Providence host major collegiate sporting events like basketball and hockey regionals. There is no reason that Portland shouldn't be hosting events like this with the number of hotel rooms located on the...

MaineDOT.....that explains everything. Totally unrelated but always stuck in my craw......why can't the State of Maine get bridge seams right? I've never seen so many rough transitions from road to bridge to road as they have in this state.🙄

Must be nice! Landscaping and beautification is such a low priority in this state.....it has always bugged the hell out of me....and always will!

We've taken Concord to Logan numerous times. Convenient, clean and safe are the 3 words that come to mind. You can't beat their Portland>Logan schedule. We fly direct roundtrip from Logan to San Diego.

Direct routes to Las Vegas, San Diego and LAX would be incredible.

Do they have to move the Amtrak station? Seems like a dumb thing to do with all of the development around there finally happening.

That Dick's purchase is really interesting. That whole side of the Mall needs some major redevelopment.

Cool design. The only change that I would make is the dark colored (brown/black?) balconies and roof area. I would mimic the dark gray stone facade strip around the first level.

Taylor Swift is more likely to show up in Bangor than Portland to do any performances. Regarding UMaine and USM.....they are both moving in positive directions. And I believe both have focus and differentiation now that was much needed in a state with limited resources. UMaine is the science...
