Copper Mill Development | Elm Street and Grove Street | Davis Square

From some of the posts on here, I get that Davis Square is generally a nice place to hang out in its current state of small-ish buildings and shops with a small town laid-back feel. But a long term plan for Davis Square is needed which addresses its eventual, and probably inevitable...

Non MBTA buses, School buses, and electrification

There used to be a privately run bus shuttle running from Waverly westerly on Trapelo Road which provided access to McLean Hospital and points west. I used to use it when I worked at the Army Corps office that was on Trapelo Rd in Waltham.

    "Dirty Old Boston"

Looks worse than the bombed-out Dresden Germany after WW II. I've often wondered over the years if this scorched-earth wholesale demolition of the Scollay/Haymarket Square and West End districts of Boston in the name of urban renewal wasn't actually inspired, on a subconscious level, by the...

    Old Colony phase 4, 5, & 6 | 72-110 Mercer street | South Boston

Well, at least that's something. The organizations having offices on the ground floor of these units will build community and improve this neighborhood.

Copper Mill Development | Elm Street and Grove Street | Davis Square

It's sad to see Davis Square being calcified into a cute suburban square, a wannabe Arlington Center in which any trace of urban development or density is cast off and relegated to the great unwashed gritty eastern part of Somerville. When I was a kid in the 1950s and 60s, Davis Square was a...

    Aerials

The parking lots and empty parcels are starkly apparent in the first photo of the series. The Gillette development will take care of the piece next to Fort Point Channel, and maybe that will prompt the development of the others.

Riverside Development | 333 Grove Street | Newton

The NIMBY height limit there is the governing factor, not the FAA height limit.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

The "best value" bidder rating system should be used for this instead of just simple low bidder. Best value takes into consideration specific technical expertise for the job.

Skylines and Developments of the US/World

My wife and I visited St. John, Halifax and Prince Edward Island in early Fall about 20 years ago, and I love those places. St. John especially struck me as a very urbane, picturesque and active port city. My grandmother came from the small town of Upper Musquodoboit northeast of Halifax, so...

    Gillette Stadium Transportation Improvements

l agree with your points. But then I think of Fenway Park, and how it adds to the city and to the life of the surrounding neighborhood. But Fenway Park has a much smaller footprint than the new stadiums of today, so the comparison is not a good one.

    Block AI scraping on aB

I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days a new member signs onto aB, but it is actually an AI entity signing on, not a person.

    Your "Other" Hobbies

I scanned and organized some drawings and doodles I've done over the years, and assembled some of them here. Heavily influenced by sci-fi, mapping, and cities. Lately I'm getting more into doing realistic drawings of scenery and people.
