I was recently in Sri Lanka and I got a couple of shots from Colombo. Unfortunately, we spent little time in the city, so I only got shots of the Lotus Tower and some city shots.

We were last in Boston on New Year's Eve day for First Night and we couldn't get my daughter to use the port-o-potties, so my wife went into the cinema near the Common and asked very nicely. I guess she gave them the "desperate parent" face and she was allowed to use the bathroom.

As the father of a four year old who goes from "I don't have to pee" to "If you don't get me to a bathroom now, things are gonna get messy," in a matter of five minutes, I welcome every new public bathroom.

It's sorta close to the Braintree Red Line stop, but probably not close enough for a quick walk. I also notice the tracks go around it on both sides. Maybe they could triple or quadruple the number of apartments if the MBTA agrees to expand the Red Line a mile further?

Kinda, but it also benefits from the location as well. CT cities are a bit Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Cities like Stamford and Norwalk are thriving. Bridgeport and New Haven are up and coming and Hartford and Waterbury are just plain depressing.

It's really sad. My mother lived there til she was 13. When my grandmother was alive and we'd take her around to see the old neighborhood, she'd get angry to see how far the city has fallen.

I guess that doesn't blow my mind as much because Dorchester is part of Boston, a much bigger city. I think I'm more shocked because for my whole life, Hartford has been losing population. Lowell and Cambridge went through a similar loss of population, but they've gained people over the last 20...

On a somewhat related matter, I just realized that Hartford only has 122k people. That means that Cambridge and Lowell are only a few thousand people away from surpassing CT's capital. For some reason, that blows my mind.

Will they be building more similar buildings on the remaining land?

On my last trip to the area a few weeks ago, my wife and I really liked Dover. She said, "Dover looks like Lowell if they cleaned it up." The Children's Museum of NH was fun for a day with my fam.

Sorry for the late response, but I just saw this. What has always struck me about Boston is the complete lack of mediocre hotels for budget travelers - basically a place to sleep for the night with no frills. Even in NY, I can find a mediocre to crappy hotel with a shared bathroom where one can...

It's not perfect, but I don't see anything wrong with it. We need the housing and not all buildings need to be perfect.

I was looking at these using Zillow last week. I think it's an amazing looking concept and I'd like to see more like this.
