Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

Eate Pricey is due to local issues. Make it easier for business to open — especially licensing — and they will come

    MBTA Construction Projects

We talked about similar concepts somewhere way back on the green line reconfiguration thread. I was saying that in the event we had a new F Line to Roxbury, and a new back bay tunnel under Stuart, that continued onto South Station, that such an intersection would work well as being called...

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

“growing Boston thoroughfare” with tons of new construction yet not one new good eatery or watering hole. Pathetic, Boston

Beautiful capture of color and contrast in these

@Roxxma the "raw" distance doesnt necessarily matter as much as the psychological distance. Which is to say: walking across a bridge—or any desolate stretch, no matter whether it's desolate and beautiful or desolate and ugly—is always going to feel like a longer walk than walking through a very...

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

Well, the trains are nice other than that issue. But I didnt notice that much of a diff inside. I guess the real benefit is they can run faster, so that's good

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

Terrible. It definitely felt like the space was tighter. I really don’t understand why this is happening even on Amtrak. Americans are getting taller so why are seats getting smaller

Acela & Amtrak NEC (HSR BOS-NYP-WAS and branches only)

On the new Acela now and seems like there's less leg room. Am I mis-remembering or has Amtrak followed the airlines in shrinking leg room?

    Wellesley Developments

They always say shit like that. There is absolutely no justification for development of completely open space when the issue at hand is a lack of proper use of the land that exists: and saying that changing land use policy is hopeless so let’s just bulldoze woods instead is not a justification...

    Wellesley Developments

Sounds terrible. Completely undeveloped land should be preserved. It’s gonna be some ugly yet unaffordably high end series of cul de sacs with no outlet and they’ll clear cut all the trees. Make this a reservation and put some six stories buildings on Washington and get the exact same population...

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

Adding in, is there a map somewhere in transit pitches anyone’s made showing bus reconfig options with OLX to Roslindale and OLX to WR?

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

This vantage is not very nice. Looks not great here in street view but my memory of seeing it in person was much more forbidding. I guess they had to put the service stuff on the road side since it’s literally on the water, but its presence is not great on this side...

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

Yeah, 35, 36, 37 and 51 all would fit that, but it’s still a lot of buses and not a space that’s great for a bus terminus. It really makes it clear how much the whole local network would benefit from just having all of WR covered by the orange line and then having some feeder routes for it

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

Ridership would probably drop to zero. I can’t imagine anyone who takes the commuter rail accepting a bus transfer to an unreliable green line

    Roslindale Infill and Small Developments

Wow, I literally walked along the sidewalk today but did not look up and thus did not realize the wrapping came off. This is hugely depressing. Like majorly, majorly disappointing and ugly compared to what was there before. This one is also a disappointment, because I think the form / massing...

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

Others probably could answer this more analytically but I don’t really see the benefit there. You’re gonna lose time tracking across the square (yes, only a little time, but the journey from Washington up to the station has many ped crossings and is slow), and you’re gonna skip the last leg that...

Incredible. I have not seen that face in decades but will never forget it.

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

The loop around the square also just doesn’t make sense to have tons of buses moving through it. The question is whether more people would choose to get off in Roslindale and walk from Washington Street to the new Orange line station, or sit on traffic in Washington Street until they got to...

Orange Line Extension to Roslindale/West Roxbury

I recognize that face! Is your new profile pic the face of the guy who’d appear and say “ do you really want to do this” when you’d build like a coal power plant next to resi in simcity????
