The existing rotary isn't under the highway, it's 100ish' to the east. I have to loop all the way around it regularly, coming back from Franklin Park Zoo, and being able to just turn left onto I-93 would be awesome.

One of the options presented in the, er, presentation is a diverging diamond under I-93. I'm a bigger fan of SPUIs for no particular reason; one of the problems with them is that the large paved area can make snow removal problematic, but presumably that's less of an issue under an overpass.

I find it astonishing that quad gates aren't required on Class 6 track. It's easy to misjudge how much time one has to go around the gates (not that one should ever, ever do that), because looking up the tracks you really can't tell how fast the train is going.

That makes sense. You want the crossing to be at the departure end of the platform, where the train is already stopped.

I'd think it should be fairly easy to build an EMU with a (relatively) small battery in it to bridge electrification gaps at too-low bridges. Probably need some automatic mechanism to drop the pans at the right time.

My older kid did one of these spontaneously when they were 7 or so, it included all the subway and bus routes we typically use, the Museum of Science, Children's Museum, Aquarium etc. It was nearly 100% topologically accurate.

MV is eminently bikeable; I've gone there with just bikes a few times (though it's been a few decades). It's hillier than Nantucket, but many of the roads have separate bike paths next to them. Oak Bluffs to Edgartown is a very pretty ride.

This is part of why the GLX maintenance facility and yard are located where they are; several of the other options were rejected specifically because they conflicted with the NSRL portal locations. So it's definitely a thing that is being actively planned around.

Huh? This drawbridge doesn't interfere with NSRL in the slightest; the portals are going to be way back near the maintenance facility. Keeping the surface North Station is a necessary part of NSRL, because not all northside trains are going to run through.
