That intersection was / is a colossal mess. I think the only way to have made it functional would require the elimination / re-routing of connecting streets. I will admit that the new design is an improvement but still a challenge.

What's the master plan regarding the old table talk pie store / building? It seems that the building is pretty much dilapidated ... don't know why they didn't raze that as well.

The origin of this thread goes back to 2006 and I would have bet that this tower would never have been built just a few short years ago given all the hurdles. I think we're fortunate that we can watch this one go up considering that there is a trend now to significantly scale back with office...

Lovely building but no streetscape.

I was about to write that this project / renovation is so completely blah, lackluster, and then I see the night pic. Ok .,. so *that* is pretty cool.

What is striking in those preceding pics is the mass of people on Main St. Of course, that was before urban sprawl and malls. Today, downtown Worcester is void of people with the possible exception of restaurant activity around Franklin and Front streets.

I don't have enough time to hunt for this but I would be curious to see a side-by-side comparison of the exterior of the top floors (before and after) now that this project is wrapping up.

What was the cost of this again? 200M? and they build an observation deck which is (yawn) something I wouldn't even considering doing. The old top of the hub was actually fun from time to time. I don't see the ROI for this.

This pic was taken early today and doesn't really do it any justice. The bold architecture of the new terminal is so unlike anything at Logan, and maybe most US airports. It's amazing to see up close and personal. Admittedly, the interior design may lack some of the zeal compared to the physical...

I equate it to one of those horrific accidents you see on the highway where you can't help but slow down to look but are glad once you've passed it.

The West end (does anyone really reference it as the West End anymore?) has a cool vibe now with all the recent development. The collection of new towers, with emphasis on the Causeway / Garden, is giving it a welcome identity compared to years past.

Agreed and appreciate this one. I don't see any new towers exceeding 500' on the horizon.
