North End Piazza on The Greenway | 198 Hanover Street | North End

Those are probably Juliette balconies. If there is a dining area up there, then the windows open and it is a bit like dining al fresco. Yes, that's a complete joke compared to having the first floor spill out on to the plaza, as we saw in earlier renders.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Yes, I expect some of it can only be a narrow river walk/bikeway, but this can be punctuated by parks. My larger point, though, is that for any kind of path to reach the area in your picture requires that such a path have room for it along the stadium section. Given the need for crowd management...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

It's also worth noting that this may well be the one chance to extend any kind of greenway on that side of the river. If the stadium blocks such an amenity, then it likely can never happen anywhere that is downstream of the Alford St bridge.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Right, and it's not like the other three sides will lack for urban grittiness. I think the combination of the park, plus the various walking routes from transit will make for a great fan experience and culture development. The formally approved pedestrian bridge from Assembly will be a really...

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

Your claim didn't regard the ballot text, but what you stated was actually happening. This was thoroughly rebutted by @BosMaineiac and you can't even try instead to make the fungibility argument, since total general fund appropriations for transportation also increased. People on this board...

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

You should probably have just said that you didn't know, before listing these assumptions as fact.

    Biking in Boston

On the chance you aren't trolling, I'll simply point out that your perceptions do not fit actual data. Most bike riders do not flagrantly violate traffic laws. Many of us do, however, understand that rules designed for a different vehicle type (ie cars) aren't always what makes sense for the...

    Biking in Boston

The driver who struck the scooter ran a red light, so I'm pretty sure the tactical urbanism didn't cause the accident, particularly because it doesn't interfere with the car lane at all. I agree, vigilantism is completely the wrong word, this was an action by safety minded citizens who rightly...

    Biking in Boston

A very thorough analysis! And I agree with all of what you say. I do have some good news on point 2, though. The new River's Edge path is open, which right now is really only useful for recreational purposes, but will eventually have a bike/ped bridge crossing the river to connect with the...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Although the CSX developers haven't taken advantage of this, I'd argue that the strict FAA limit in the Seaport as a contrast is a large part of why the latter is so much more urban than the former. I am by no means anti-tower, but I find that the best urbanism is consistently in places that do...

    Biking in Boston

It likely means fewer people on bike will patronize Mattapan Square businesses, but at least in terms of network connectivity, it isn't terrible. Riders on Blue Hill Ave will be able to connect with the Cummins Hwy bike lanes via Woodhaven, which from what I hear, is also going to get some sort...

    Biking in Boston

Here's a pretty good write-up on the bike infrastructure changes in the most recent Blue Hill Ave plan, compared to the prior version...

BFIT Redevelopment | 41 Berkeley Street | South End

Yeah, the stage is tiny. Given the acoustics, it would probably be perfect for some chamber groups or recitals, but that's about it.

Quabbin & MWRA Water & Sewer

Water in Cambridge doesn't taste nearly as good as water in Boston. I'm happy to pay more for that.

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

I don't completely disagree with this, but Moulton didn't do what it took to become a plausible alternative. Being the right age as the main qualification doesn't make him the right choice. But then, he really gave us very little other than that as a basis for selection.

    Massachusetts 2026 Congressional elections

Moulton didn't try to make that the point of his age complaint, though. He didn't run on the message that he could only beat a Republican as an incumbent. And honestly, what politician in their right mind would stake out that position? Also, subsequent to 2010, the MA GOP has become heavily in...

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

The city can brand it that way if they want to do so, but it is not a park, nor has it ever been one. Sorry that you are allowing a word spoken by somebody else to define the space, despite the evidence before our very eyes.

    Site Issues

Mostly working well today for me, though this morning there were some pages that failed to load. The images are still taking some time, but the overall page loads quickly. Some sort of acknowledgement or messaging from skylinecities would be nice.
