    The New Retail Thread

Where are you going (or, maybe more appropriately, where *aren't* you going) that you come to this conclusion?

    "Dirty Old Boston"

It hasn't! Love Southie and love that (those) beach(es).

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

That spot has been begging for redev for a looooooong time.

Neat! Reading up on Nichida siding RN.

Allston Square | 334 Cambridge street | Allston

If they can keep the facade of 10 Highgate and all these housing units I am so in favor of this. Full steam ahead!

    Damn! Wish I'd seen that.

    Parcel P-12 | 286-290 Tremont St | Chinatown

The original 28(?)-floor design was quite nice, too.

    Parcel P-12 | 286-290 Tremont St | Chinatown

That is truly a shame. Chinatown (and all of Boston, but in particular Chinatown) needs much more housing.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Aside from JHT, this is easily the boldest and most enjoyable high-rise in Boston. I'm still kind of amazed it happened.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Yes! It's absolutely amazing. I like the view from the other side (with the balconies), as well, but that front-on is stunning.

Glad you posted this ^^^. I also have a close friend who works in City Hall and he's equally effusive about what a great space it is to be in, professionally.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I don't dislike SST at all, and like it far more than many here (or the author of that article). Wish it was as ambitious and exciting as One Congress, though. One Congress sprouting out of the S. Station headhouse rather than what we have would be far more impressive. I don't mind that SST is...

That should -- and, consequently, of course WON'T -- happen.

City Hall Discussion - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

If the building itself wasn't dragged down by an awful "plaza" -- or, better yet, if it had the great one it and the city deserve -- then I suspect folks would think much more kindly towards City Hall. Taken as a whole experience, the area is grim and unpleasant, but the building is excellent...

There's not "a lot of 'there' there" with this piece, but ran across it the other night.
