    My Tokyo Neighborhood's Neighbor: Koishikawa

Probably, but you're never gonna really fit in until you learn the language (not the Japanese are super well known for letting foreigners fit in regardless)

    Worcester Developments

Yea there isn't much of a reason to be in downtown Worcester after 8pm or on the weekend. More housing down there will help in time, but it's a slow process. It's still significantly more active than it was a decade ago and even more so compared to the 90s.

Canvas - Mixed Use Tower (old Felt location) | 533 Washington St | Downtown Crossing

Not sure what to make of this but the Felt location has been marked by the Fire Department with the White on Red X of Death (dangerous structure, no entry). I wonder if the current owner's plan is to let this thing rot into oblivion? Kinda surprised it's been given this designation so...

Gillette Headquarters Bldg Redevelopment | 1 Granite | South Boston

You built a strawman and attacked it. Sounds like Gillette is looking to exit because it could yield a nice financial windfall. Take it up with Gillette not me for wanting to see the land put to better use. Not to mention I bet that plant runs on < 100 workers. That's not a lot of jobs in the...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

That's what I am wondering, but I'm still bearish on the prospects for this Casino. There's a number of problems: Fixable: 1. The games are too expensive and the odds suck. 2. 4am liquor last call. 3. Hotel is outrageously expensive even for Boston. 4. No pool, shitty shopping options. Not...

Gillette Headquarters Bldg Redevelopment | 1 Granite | South Boston

This was sort of inevitable... it makes no sense for manufacturing to be taking up prime real estate like that. I know it will never happen but I'd like the city or state to fill in the Fort Point Channel and create a ton of new downtown developable land.

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

Construction fencing is up around the parking lot and the small building on the parking lot site.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Worcester and Central MA getting fucked is so very very Massachusetts. I hope state reps push back on this.

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

Heh... my parents wax on about that place all the time. It apparently was THE SPOT in the 70's and 80's. I went there around 2004/05... was definitely past it's prime. I dunno, I would love to see some casual night life here... good music, good drinks, easy ordering menu.

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

This will be a great building if they can find good restaurant and bar tenants for the down below portion. The residents probably won't go for it but some late night establishments would be great.

Hurley Building Redevelopment | 19 Staniford St | West End

Architecture is about more than just the building. It's also about place making and its relation to the urban fabric. This building fails miserably at those. Are we just supposed to preserve crap because it's iconic crap or built by a well regarded architect?

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I'm skeptical shadow studies contribute major time delays or costs to a project. It's probably two or three hours of work for an engineering associate to plug the numbers into software that does all the work if it even takes that long.
