Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

It really makes me wonder what they were thinking putting these at diagonal angles to the grid, and like most post war public housing has no street grid, retail, and grass everywhere but no actual parks. It seems so obvious today that this is a horrible design. You see buildings in china that I...

Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

Stitching together the street grid is huge. Also having retail on the ground level. Both of these things will help this dev integrate into the larger neighborhood.

The before and after of this area is absolutely ridiculous. What a home run.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

Absolutely, plus were gaining a couple smaller venues in the seaport, and a larger one at the new balance running complex that will be wrapping up soon as well. Oh yea the huntington theater is getting an upgrade too.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Theres an interesting quote from ctdot about loaning the mbta some m8s for “testing”, I wish they went more in depth about what exactly that means and entails. “CDOT may even have enough M8s to share a pair with MBTA in Boston for their testing, allowing for group orders of future cars. Testing...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I agree that we need some taller buildings to break up the plateau, but one thing people havent mentioned is we need some shorter buildings too to create the step back effect from the water to what we already have. Both have their place in breaking up the monotony and buzzcut effect.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

Imagine if they run out of money and it stalls here and were stuck with this for a while. I know it wont happen but that would be pretty wild.

    Children's Hospital Building | Longwood

Its like a stumpy exchange place with less effort. I know a lot of people disagree, but I think exchange place is complete laziness. The right way to use a historic facade is the hearst building in nyc or atlantic wharf. Not this

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

Indeed it is, extremely ironic. A broken clock is right twice a day and the beekman in nyc and the grand in la are pretty iconic, but overall he has to be the worst “starchitect” of all time. Not even bad in like an artistic “you just dont understand” type of way, but bad as in it looks like a...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

I definitely dont think penguins should be kept in aquariums, but you could still have a pretty good aquarium and a place for kids to learn with jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, and lots of fish, no? Apart from that you could have exibits like the blue whale bones, or models and other things. I think...

Residential Tower | 26 Court St. | Government Center

Anti development? I visited my dad at mass general a week ago and counted 10 cranes from the window across the west end, Cambridge, and back over to Kenmore. How does biggest construction boom ever lead to a conclusion of were doomed and the city is anti development? Talk about ridiculous.

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Man what a high quality project. Turns out they can build em like they used to, they just dont. Its only going to get better from here too with the corner paneling! That brick looks great, much better than the render.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

There was a massing model released early on thats pretty close. I think the swoop has been chopped down a little bit since. Your last one looks pretty close in height, its just backwards.

Kenmore Square North | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Theres so much high quality precast brick out there these days that they must have had to go out of their way to find whatever the hell this shit is. Even the completely average stuff thrown up around the ground level of every 5 over 1 in JP at least looks like brick. This is a red grid panel...
