North Station, Charles River Draw, & Tower A

I am sorry for any confusion. I meant that a multi-track, above ground NS would be superfluous in NSRL. Not one of you claiming a role for the present NS has yet to show ANY actual analysis, as I have done.

I'm sorry, I thought the 24tph after mentioning RR, but TM has thoroughly covered this. This does pre-suppose a non NSRL Reading service of some kind. For the purpose of of this discussion there will be three lines. Lowell/Haverhill Because in part of the GLX, TM has suggested a max of 15 min...

And the $17.7B figure was generated by an organization that does not want to do ANYTHING they dont have to.

A full RR frequency future should result in 24 tph, tops. NH service would take a while to electrify, as well as Amtrak, but "a while" is relative. We have 20 years to get off fossil fuels, people! This includes trains. North Station is a Brontosaurus, and I can see the meteor in the sky.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

No question. Allows multiple stops, connection with Sullivan, and a spur to Harvard with multiple stops. With a relatively moderate amount of work GJ could be attached to B and D to E completing the URban Ring concept for 50% of the ring

Again, four separate arguments I. That IF THE POLITICAL WILL WAS THERE, NSRL shouldn't take 15-20 yrs 2. IN A NSRL WORLD, NS would be a barely used sideshow. MAYBE 2-3 tph 3. That, with efficient operations, a four track bridge is more than adequate WITHOUT NSRL 4. tThat we will spend nearly...

Even in a max built RR world. 4 tracks should more than handle 23 tph I would argue two could. How few of those would use NSRL? And the Big Dig took 16 yrs, and NSRL is nowhere near as complex as that.

It doesn't make sense to spend 100s of millions of dollars on obsolescent drawbridges

And shame on us for just accepting a 20 yr minimum for a gov project.

NSRL WOULD obviate the need for 6 tracks to NS. 2 would be more than enough

This is all about the Ts irrational dislike of catenary maintenance. The present wires(N Cambridge, Seaport Transitway, B Branch and E Branch) could support 12-4% of the present fleet, and just wiring Blue Hill Ave would get it closer to 17-9%. Instead we will continue to kill people with diesel...
