South Station Tower | South Station | Downtown

Lolz... Don't be fooled into thinking that an abnormal number of tower cranes in the sky means Seattle is "better". Have some fun here looking at projects that haven't moved in inch in years: https://www.seattleinprogress.com/ There is also a giant hole in the ground, a la Filenes, from...

South Station Tower | South Station | Downtown

This of all things should have heads rolling? Not the ghosts of winter 2015, chronic under-funding, deferred maintenance, delays, derailments, of the rest of transit infrastructure?? Shiny tower or not, this is the least of the problems right now. Hopefully the construction will be well...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I already know why.. but keep asking myself: What is the obsession/misconception in this city that the only supermarkets that can work, are 30-60K suburban style markets. I literally had 5 small format markets near my flat in London (most half the size, or likely less, than a typical suburban...

HN Gorin Hotel Project | 39 Stanhope Street | Back Bay

I can hear residents of The Clarendon lighting their torches and sharpening their pitchforks already.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

My Boston property taxes were a dream compared to Seattle, especially for an owner occupied condo...and part of the reason I'm happy to remain a renter for the moment. I can't wait for the garage to be gone, but for now, the tower with garage is creating some great light and shadow.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I stayed there Friday evening, and it was in line with expectations...designed for the 'gram, and you could tell the construction was kind of shit in places. The room was comfy enough for just me, and had all the tech bells and whistles. The view... esp from 10th floor... Anyway, it did not...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

The crane is starting to come down on the residential tower. Who knows when, or if, we'll see so many cranes dotting North Station/West End/Bulfinch Triangle ever again. https://app.oxblue.com/open/bostonproperties/huboncauseway

I can see demographic "concerns" being that you're paying $4-5K for a studio in a city where catering to students tend to overrun the concerns of working adults. You tend to think the worst, even if it's potentially unfounded. It is being treated as a dorm, even though it's not. People also...

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

I you already know the answer to that. :D What a wasted opportunity with that beautiful puddingstone. Almost insulting... fk it, it is.

    Logan Flight Additions

Oh how I wish City could accommodate an A321. I'd gladly pay the premium to avoid Heathrow Express, Picadilly Line, or the M4....or the shit hole that is Gatwick.

Office Tower | 125 Lincoln St | Leather District

It's easier to build quickly than wasted time and money having protracted fights with Chinatown and Leather district, a la Two Financial Center. Build it and flip it... I bet we end up with 18 floors, or less, when all is said and done.

Like an official groundbreaking, silver shovels in the dirt mayoral media gaggle? I don't think so..

Boston Bombing Memorial | Boylston St | Back Bay

We also trivialise it with movies and cheap retrospectives. Is anyone still buying a ‘Boston Strong’ T-shirt still being hawked at Quincy Market or Logan gift shops? Ask someone in Parkland or Newtown if their attacks were attack enough for a memorial. The latter one, is getting one, so I...

Boston Bombing Memorial | Boylston St | Back Bay

Mixed thoughts on this...but I do look forward to it's addition to Boylston Street. We no longer do equestrian statues or Gothic water fountains, so esoteric it has to be. And it's more than a stone bench with inscribed names, which is the usual civic token. I know this is important for...
