11/2021 with what looks like A LOT of work left to be done. Too bad the original anticipated '2021' opening date couldn't be held. Aw well; at least it looks like it will open... eventually. (~positive thoughts~)

Holy crap that original design for East Somerville was a lot better. You think they could really add on in the future? They'd have to tunnel down, and make a cut in the bridge abutment. Seems like A LOT of work for not a whole lot of value added at this point though, .... the walking distance to...

I'm kinda amazed at the Medford St Bridge work. Did the extend the bridge by leaving the original abutment and bridge in place, digging out behind the abutment, and adding a new span? I guess this is easier / cheaper than a complete rebuild? Is that now free-standing abutment nice and "solid"...

It was a"budget add-on" that had to be added in the cheapest way possible, or not at all. At least they are doing it

I think your estimate for scale from Google maps is not good, I think those concrete bases are bigger than you think. At least manhole cover sized. The track gauge is 4 ft 8 1⁄2 in, and the concrete bases are roughly length-scale as the track gauge.

Neat! Wish they could somehow bury this kind of stuff underground tho, or at least put it somewhere in less-than-prime real estate location
